Happy update!
Cooper was reunited with his family yesterday!
While this usually doesn't happen, it is with a heavy heart we have to announce that Cooper has been abandoned in our care.
Cooper needs to find a forever home. He is 10 years old, UTD on vaccines and neutered.
At his age, he still has a lot of energy, he loves walks, snuggles and FOOD. Yes, he has some pounds to lose, and a lot of love to give.
Please share!

***FOSTER NEEDED***
SAFE is working on getting him vaccines & I am currently unsure if the owner is willing to have him neutered while in our care but I will update the post when/if that changes- BL

Type of animal/breed? This helps us understand size and compatibility?

He's Black Lab, Greyhound and Gladiator pit.

If there are multiple animals, can they be separated?

He's already separated from his mom, our other dog, at the moment so he's a little sad as it is, but I don't think he will any problems leaving Arayah. (my cat)

Age?

He's almost 3.5

S*x?

Male

Name?

Albert

Crate trained and or housebroken?

Housebroken yes, he will whine in a kennel, he doesn't like to be alone.

Good with other animals? Dogs and cats? Farm animals?

He's very playful, he doesn't get along with other male dogs though. Cats he will chase unless it's our cat. Never been around farm animals.

Good with kids/people in general?

People yes, he's a HUGE LOVE BUG, kids make him nervous at first cause they're noisy but he calms down eventually.

Spay or neutered?

No. We are striving to make spay and neuter a requirement for our program. When we have more funds it will be a requirement. We offer the option for now and we have someone willing to pay for 2 alterations for our clients!

Up to date with vaccinations?

He's only ever had one set of shots, I believe they were his first (puppy) shots.

Is the animal an escape artist needing an extra secure environment?

Yes, and no. If there is a hole in the fence he gets curious but he doesn't go far.

What is the anticipated length of care needed?

January 15-18.

Thank you Living Water Lawn & Tree Care!

Thank you to everyone who was a part of the Living Water Foundation’s Giving Tuesday last week! You all absolutely blew us away with your engagement and love for amazing local nonprofits doing wonderful work in our community!

Here is a wrap up of the Living Water Foundation’s Giving Tuesday:

We pledged to give $500 each to Transitions, Teen & Kid Closet, Safe Animals for Everyone, and River City Youth Ops, with additional donations based on your likes, shares, and comments. So with your help, we will be giving an additional $284 split between our four highlighted organizations!

We also pledged to donate to the top organization you all voted for! So we will be donating $500 to Higher Ground Animal Sanctuary / Inland Northwest Animal Sanctuary, this year’s community pick!

But because so many other amazing organizations were nominated as well, we will be giving $150 to each of the other organizations that received a vote, 8 additional organizations in total!

Thank you to everyone who was part of Giving Tuesday and who supports nonprofit organizations, both local and global! And thank you to all the amazing local nonprofits doing vital work in our community!

Giving Tuesday was this week, and in honor of that, we are highlighting some of the amazing organizations that we work with through The Living Water Foundation.

The next organization we want to highlight is Safe Animals for Everyone.

Safe Animals for Everyone (SAFE Spokane) is a nonprofit that helps people in times of crisis by fostering companion animals while their owners get the help they need. At Living Water, we know that pets are such an important part of families, and we also know that life can be unpredictable. The work that SAFE is doing is so important! They are providing a safe short-term home for pets and peace of mind for their people until they can be reunited!

Some of the reasons people have turned to SAFE to temporarily care for their beloved pets are urgent or emergency medical care, seeking safety from domestic violence, inpatient mental health care, substance use disorder treatment, and getting into safe & stable housing after being homeless.

During the time that a pet is placed with one of SAFE’s volunteer foster families, the pet still belongs to its human. In the rare instance an animal is abandoned in SAFE’s program, they take responsibility to find them a great forever home.

To find out more about Safe Animals for Everyone (SAFE Spokane) and to get involved in their great work, make sure to follow them on Facebook.

Their biggest need is always foster families. The foster period is 60 days or less, so if you are an animal-lover who could take in an animal for that period of time, make sure to reach out to them!

Other needs include: help with transportation, pet supplies which can be purchased off of their Chewy wishlist, and monetary donations which allow them to help more people and pets by covering costs for food, spay & neuter procedures, medications, urgent veterinary treatment, and necessary grooming among other things for pets in their care.

And check out our recent featured post to see how you can help SAFE Spokane and other nonprofit organizations with just a like, comment, and share!
