Day in the life… I often go back through our video feed to count the number of times Leia has fed the puppies (they’re getting so big!!!) and I came upon this. My daughter and I working together to register weights (yes, on my phone app 😂) and her helping me do puppy exercises. I love that I get to share this with her. Helping to foster a love of animals in her and a love of humans in them. 🐶💗🐾

And the winner of the opening the eyes first prize goes to…🥁Mrs. Benglian! 🎼 One of my favorite milestones with the puppies is seeing all of their little eyes open. My next fave is walking around! That will be coming in a week or so. 💗 Love these little guys! These weeks go by so fast! 🐾

Some of you may know I am also a teacher and I love being able to incorporate what we do in breeding into our science classroom because it is so applicable! The day after the puppies were born, I brought a pic of Leia and the puppies and we discussed the characteristics of life. The students then had to draw a pic depicting their own versions/understanding. When everything was handed in, I got this really cute drawing of Leia and her pups from one of the students. I love seeing how our students soak it in when it they can see science in life. So fun!🐶💗🧬👩🔬 🐾

We have been very busy at Stony Run Puppies the last couple of days! Early in the week, Leia had been awake laboring through the night. Finally, Wednesday morning (8/30) at 3:45 am, Leia started delivering her puppies! She finished around 7:30 am and safely delivered 6 boys and 3 girls! Everyone is nursing well, gaining weight nicely and making the cutest little sounds! They are so stinking adorable and watching Leia mother them is such a gift. 💗🥰 She has taken every moment to be with her puppies ever since having them, only taking breaks to use the bathroom and when she hears the other dogs getting treats, of course!
I have to admit, that as a teacher myself, I could not give up the chance to name all of our puppies after our favorite teachers and others who have influenced our lives. Among all of the puppies, you will see our favorite school teachers (elementary, math and music), hip hop teachers and coaches. Thank you to those who have taught us and who continue to pour their love into our children!💗

The puppy headcount has gone well beyond mere handfuls – we're talking serious puppy overload here! This X-ray has left the veterinary team perplexed, as it appears to resemble a furry pile-up at the base. She counted 9 little skull shapes, but hang on, there were a whopping 11 spines having a party. The vet's theory? Maybe 2 sneaky skulls decided to play hide and seek, peeking out from behind their pals or pulling off the ultimate vanishing act outside the X-ray frame. The picture on this post has red lines that represent my best guess at spines. What do you think? Magical disappearing puppies or just some camera-shy craniums?

This is Elizabeth (now Penny) from Leia’s Founding Father’s litter. Since microchips greatly increase the chances that pets are reunited with their families if they are lost or stolen, Elizabeth, along with all of our other puppies, are microchipped as part of our program before going home. National Check the Chip day was actually yesterday, so we’re late, but this is our attempt to raise awareness about chips and updating your chip information. At Stony Run Puppies, we highly value the health of our mamas and papas and get health certifications for everyone. Today, we received news that Rosie's Hips were certified GOOD and elbows were certified as healthy! (In the breeding world, that means she was negative for elbow dysplasia.)
With "good" hips, "healthy" elbows and a clear DNA profile, that means we will be breeding her next heat! With her loving temperament and graceful athleticism, she is going to make some beautiful babies! We can’t wait to have another litter of fluffy Goldendoodles! 💗🐾🐶

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!!! In early June, Leia surprised us with an early heat! While I was wrapping up work at school, preparing for our family vacation, and preparing for our own new little puppy, Leia went into heat. While all of the above prevented us from using the same stud as the last litter (travel was not an option), I was able to find a new stud from champion lines and almost in our backyard. Who knew?!
Let me introduce you to Tramin Jack Daniels of Rockvale Puppies! He has a wonderful temperament, is SO handsome, has passed all of the required rigorous health screenings, and has loads of champion and even GRAND champion in his lines! 😍 We will welcome our new litter of precious puppies in late August/early September and can't wait to cuddle each one in preparation for your home! ❤️

We have had A LOT going on here in the recent months so this has been a long time in the making. I'm finally at the point where I want to share with the world. The online world makes it easy for people to steal images and unfortunately, that has happened to us and has been used to scam unfortunate families. It became apparent that I needed to do some things to protect my family and the puppies we raise for you. For that reason, we are changing our name to Stony Run Puppies. We are still the same family behind the puppies and still have the same love for our dogs.
When you are picking your puppies, always make sure that you talk to the people, ask to facetime, ask to see the dogs and the puppies. Examine the pictures - do they have a common theme with the same logo or do they look like a hodge podge of pictures that have been pieced together for a website?
So here we are! Also, notice we are not just Leia and Rosie anymore! There is a third little guy in the mix. More on him to come!

New puppy-robics, as Cooper has now named them. The puppies have graduated from early neurological stimulation to handling exercises. These exercises will help the puppies adapt to their surroundings by getting them used to different things that may happen to them in their homes. Puppies are playing with each other more and learning to use their pee pads! We started putting their pee pads at the end of their area just a couple days ago. They are already learning to use them and going less in other areas! It’s amazing! What is early neurological stimulation? We take some time each day to expose the puppies to different sensations to get them used to where their body is in space.
