This is my new brother, Charlie. He showed up one day last winter, and now he comes in the house. He’s double my weight, twice my size and 10 years younger than me. Mom feeds us, and he waits while I eat.

Introducing Charlie… it’s a black white world! (SYLO… for those that understand)! He even sports a cool beard!

Charlie suddenly appeared about six months ago… Not feral. Either he was dropped off, or his owner simply moved away and left him behind. Not more than 8-9 months old when he showed up and already neutered… so apparently somebody liked him when he was a kitten, but maybe not as a cat.
Underfed, and a little skiddish at first… I think maybe somebody had shooed him away, or even tried to hit him (so far the only thing I found he fears are brooms)… but he was willing to be friends, and it didn’t take long for him to want to get on my lap.
He’s actually is a big love bug!
He never left… He’s almost dog like. He is loyal and never leaves the yard, and recently became an indoor and outdoor cat.
Cali is still not sure about him… but she’s warming up to him.
He’s nonthreatening towards her and not more than a year old so he wants to play. She’s an old lady now and not that interested, but she’s very tolerant of him when he comes in the house. Although she isn’t too thrilled about him taking over mom‘s lap sometimes… That’s her spot.

People are shocked when I tell him I have a pet squirrel… People think of a squirrel like they would a hamster or a guinea pig… They think they’re just boring little rodents that live in a cage. Nothing could be further from the truth… She’s incredibly intelligent and super social and wants nothing more than to be cuddled or when she’s in the mood to be crazy!
