PetSmart’s National Adoption Week (NAW) begins November 6th-12th, with 5 rescue groups slated to come to our store, to show off their adorable and adoptable pets. Each animal they bring in, will be looking to be taken home before the holiday season. With many great deals, such as our Buy 3, get the 4th FREE promotion on Dog toys, Dog treats, Cat toys, and Cat treats, we want you to spoil your new Furever friends! Listed below is the dates and times in which the rescue groups have committed to being at our store.

APARC IS OUT OF SUPPLIES! !

We have used our last syringe available for providing dewormer to our fosters, used our very last vial of vaccines that we need to help protect puppies from parvo, and do not have enough microchips available to chip all of our puppies and kittens before their adoptions!

The cost to purchase all of the supplies needed is an additional $1,050.30 cost on top of our $2,036.22 veterinary bill that includes the double enucleation (eye removal) of Messi the kitten, the heartworm treatment of Charlotte, the spay of Willow, as well as the alteration of five puppies - all within the month of August! We know we signed up to help those in our care and we will always do all that we can, but without some help ordering supplies we may have to consider turning animals in need away even if we have fosters available and we do not want to do that!

We’re so thankful for the support we receive, and want you to know that we appreciate you all! Keep doing good recklessly, even if you feel like it’s going unnoticed, because we promise you that we see it!

Looking for an extra chance to meet some of our adorable and adoptable dogs! Come see our volunteers this Saturday at The Greene, they will be hanging out with a few OFS pups and can answer questions about adopting, volunteering, fostering, and how great it is to be a part of the farm family. Nicole loves attention and sunshine and would be perfect for someone looking for a hiking buddy! She’s active, and confident enough that with some training (she is highly food motivated) she could quickly learn the ropes when it comes to outdoor activities and the expectations of her new family! But don’t worry, Princess isn’t just all action, she’s also an amazing cuddler and will gladly snuggle up to you anytime you let her. She’ll even sleep in the bed being the little spoon with children, that’s how friendly she is!

Nicole is a pitty mix, between 40-50lbs, and just over a year old. She’s housebroken, crate trained, and good with dogs larger than herself, and adores children. She is current on vaccines including rabies, spayed, and microchipped.

Her adoption fee is $250.

Sophie is a dutch shepherd mix and takes being a working breed seriously! She is high energy and will need an experienced adopter who is willing to exercise her. Sophie loves spending her days patrolling the house while her foster family is at work, and trust us she will scare someone away if they were to try anything while you’re away; but, to wind down in the evenings she loves nothing more than playing fetch in her backyard for as long as you’ll allow her.

Sophie is around 2 years old and is believed to be a dutch shepherd/malinois mix that is roughly 60lbs. She’s spayed, up to date on vaccines including rabies, and is microchipped. She’s housetrained, leash trained, and does well in the car. She is also good with other dogs, when introductions are done properly. She can be skittish around children so we recommend kids 13+ who have experience with dogs and will respect her space as she adjusts to their home.

Her adoption fee is $200.

This male was picked up in the campground area of the CJ Brown Reservoir in Springfield yesterday. He has a microchip that was implanted just a couple of weeks ago at Montgomery County ARC. Unfortunately, we have been unable to reach an owner, and ARC isn’t willing to take the dog back. They are, like us, “at capacity.” Does anyone know this poor dog’s story? No local information whatsoever about listed owner. Of course, no tags on dog.

WAITING SINCE JUNE 07, 2022 – THAT IS MORE THAN AN ENTIRE YEAR!

❤ Loves kids
❤ Loves smaller dogs (under 30lbs are his ideal)
❤ Good with cats and even small kittens
❤ House trained
❤ Top notch cuddler

Brooks is housetrained, and he absolutely loves children – seriously, if you have kids (especially a little boy around 9-10 years old) who really needs a cuddle buddy who will be at their side the entire time they’re home (he’ll even be their pillow at night), Brooks is the dog for you! Brooks will need a home with a fully fenced in yard, and will still need to be let out on a lead as he can easily clear 5ft fencing. Due to either his past, or his personality (we don’t know which it is) Brooks does not do well with dogs near his size or larger which means he would do best in a home with no other dogs or dogs under 30lbs; he does get along with an 80lb female lab but she is super mellow and just flat out doesn’t care if he acts like fool at times. Brooks can chase cats at times but will stop if corrected regularly, we’ve also discovered he’s terrified of kittens so that unexpected.

Brooks is 3-5 years old (many of his teeth are missing so telling his exact age is difficult) and is a bully/pittie mix, and is roughly 50lbs of pure muscle. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines including rabies, microchipped, and on heartworm protection.

His adoption fee is $150.

💢💢💢 FOSTER TO ADOPT/FOSTER NEEDED BY SATURDAY 08-12-2023 💢💢💢

Willow is an 18 month old female English mastiff. She has a happy go lucky mastiff personality, and does well with other dogs and people of all sorts. She's house broken and does well keeping herself occupied in a fenced in yard as well! She will give chase to cats though.

She has an appointment to be spayed on 08-24-2023 and will be fully vetted at the time of her adoption.
