Meet Gracie ! Gracie is almost 6 years old and a Yorkie/bichon mix ! Gracie is your true definition of a Velcro dog that would like to be by your side or on your lap most of the time, if not , she prefers you in her view. Gracie takes it slower in life…. likes to stroll on her walks and is more interested in attention from people over dogs. She loves belly rubs and good food or else she may deny it. Gracie has no problem making a little whine when she wants something. She has an internal clock set at 7am every morning …. And now I seem to be on that schedule too thanks to her 😆 we have been working on getting her weight down because she is a little chub 🍖and needs to be lifted to the couch 🛋️. Gracie lives with another dog who is also here with me on her stay!

Meet Cachaca the 11 year old westie ! Casha is a well behaved girl that can also be a bit of a bossy babe! She has no problem barking when she needs to go out or wants food etc. She enjoys her walks but will put all her force into her legs and stand still when she is ready to turn around ! She likes to sleep at night in her crate after beating up the cushion first. Some of Casha’s favorite things are belly rubs and feeding time ! To my surprise , Cacha loves snow and will roll around in it !

Update: adopted day 6 to a very nice couple with a small senior chihuahua!! Bittersweet….

My first foster !!! Say hello to this little Yorkie/poo …. atleast that is the guess ….. this baby is guessed to be 8 years old. She has lost a few teeth in a recent dental and so she eats soft food. She is sweet, cuddly and very calm but once in a while she can get fiesty if something happens she doesn’t like…. If you want to know more please message me !💓💓💓

Meet Sammie ! Sammie was adopted this year from a pound in Trenton NJ. The back story is kind of a mystery …. her breed is unknown but my guess is a Lhasa apso. She is thought to be about 4 years old. Sammy’s parents have worked very hard with her and even enrolled her in some overnight training courses and doggie day camp. Sammy is a very sweet girl, but she has a very rebellious side and will let you know if something is bothering her. Training camp set out to work on her aggression and resource guarding and she has made strides but still has tendencies ….but however is also just a playful little cuddle bug at the end of the day!

Baby animals are always best left with their mom and in nature , but sometimes a little help is ok if truly needed …. I constructed this little roof so they would be protected from the weekend hurricane rain storms. Rabbit nests are very shallow and they easily can drown. We have enough space for mom to get in and out. Happy to see these guys look like they have been thriving and getting ready to leave the nest soon!

Got to spot this beauty on a hike today with Winston….this is a double crested cormorant ! These birds hunt under water and can dive up to depths of 25 feet! They have incredibly keen vision and can hold their breath for over a minute! They will chase everything from fish 🐟 and amphibians 🐸 and swallow them whole! This species fulfills a nearly irreplaceable ecological niche in the eco systems where they reside!
