I know I haven’t really posted much about Star, but it is about time! Star’s foster parents have decided to adopt to lucky girl ❤️ Star is so lucky to have them and they do amazing with her care since her eye has been slowly improving. Here’s a video in her home being her spunky self!
Okay everyone, here is a morning update on our newest betta!
We have named her Cali (at least a family member did) and there has been decision to keep her.
In the video, you can see that her tail tends to drag (this has been an issue since she had arrived at Petco) but overall she is very active and a very happy girl (Cali was also labeled as a “Koi Male” which has been proved incorrect by the visible ovaries).
She has gotten a good breakfast and is as happy as can be! Let’s give Cali some wishes as she starts her journey towards improvement!
Happy Halloween everyone! Please enjoy this clownfish and his new anemone ❤️
I’m sure it was well forgotten but Cherry and Benny can be adopted now since I wanted to ensure they were both healthy after fixing the filtration issue in the tank. Benny did get that internal infection again so I had to treat him for that but he is all good now!
As for my guppy tank; a parasite had taken over and had already wiped out a few adult guppies and a ton of juvenile guppies. It was so weird though since I had treated for both internal and external but I think the new medication I have going on now will hopefully help so I guess I’ll get to pick out a few more males and females!
Peaches and her tank mate friends are doing amazing in the 40 gallon! Peaches had gained more color with her swimmy fins growing bigger since she is a elephant ear. My baby catfish I raised have also been growing and doing very well. I currently have a basket of ADF tadpoles who are having a better success is growth as I have 3 that have their back legs fully developed along with their front legs coming in. There are some tadpoles that are still waiting for their back legs to come in.
Lastly, Max has been doing well except for the fact he destroyed his beautiful tail. To be honest, it was very long and flowing so I’d think it was getting very heavy to carry around his tank.
I haven’t posted anything in awhile as I’ve been busy with things but have also been closely monitoring Star and her eye. For awhile, I was worried she would lose her eye as it looked to have gotten more infected than before until this morning, the infection went away and her eye has shrunk in size. Of course I’ll continue to watch as she heals but she would be ready for her future home very soon!
“Today is my mommy’s birthday! So happy to have a mommy like her! I was telling my neighbor Max that it’s her birthday too! Wish her happy birthday!” - Peaches ❤️🍑
Got some corydoras moving to the 40! Crazy to believe, these were the babies I had found awhile back! I know I originally had 12 but there was a heatwave that had hit and wiped out all the adult peppers I had and a bunch of the babies I had too. There was 5 that had made it but the fifth one wasn’t looking too hot after moving, now leaving 4. Hoping to get a few younger peppers so these guys don’t grow up by themselves or get put with corys that are older than them.
I think I’ll be moving my neon tetras to the tank too and get a few more to give a bigger group (currently have 5). After they’re settled and everyone looks to be doing good, I’ll be moving my newest betta addition to the tank.
The name I had chosen is Peaches by the way! ❤️
Today there was a local aquarium group that I had attended. They also do an auction during this event. This was the first time I participated in the auction along with my partner. There was so many beautiful bettas but I really like this one very much. Besides getting this beautiful betta, my partner had gotten a 1.5 rimless tank that he may do a few shrimp in and he had also gotten a Java fern for his current tank.
I plan to try and work on my tank more as I had decided to gather some wood and rocks from the rivers near by, I’m just happen to be taking my time since I want it to be thorough in sanitizing the wood and rocks before putting them in my tank. Should be a tank update soon!
Max says Hello! ❤️
I haven’t posted any of Max in awhile so I might as well do a small update.
When I had got him, he was in a 3 gallon as that was the only tank I could fit on my side of the bed as my old side table of my bed wasn’t stable enough for anything bigger. Noticed he didn’t really like the tank but it was also a pain to clean (he had fin-nipped a ton when he was in the 3 gal) so awhile later he was upgraded to a 5 gallon as I had gotten a new side table. I have a ton a fake plants in this tank and a big barrel cave that he loves very much along with one of my floating caves I made.
Since I had moved him, the fin-nipping had stopped and he seems to have so much personality! He also doesn’t like my phone very much as he flared at it earlier 😅 love this little guy so much!
Oh! He also makes a ton a small bubble nests and I don’t usually see them unless I left the tank lid up 😊
Here’s an update on Neptune at his new home!
He is enjoying his new home very well. His new family had said that he got comfortable pretty quick and even ate for them! Here’s an video of him trying to eat a freeze-dried shrimp!
His family had given him a planted 20 gallon long to himself and may try tank mates if Neptune will let them. I am so blessed to have watched this fella grow up before my eyes and now his new family will continue to watch him grow as well!
To anyone who has seen my story about a new girl; here she is!
Currently, she has no name but should have one soon.
Yesterday, Helmbee had passed as I didn’t realize all the fish in the tank she was in were sick, especially since the heat was the major issue for that. Had went to a pet store I normally don’t go to and saw this little one.
The thing I like about this store particularly is they keep their bettas in tanks but it’s the matter of the fish that are with them. As for the the female bettas, they had them all together. There were a few females but there was one that was already beaten to death, and then this girl. The other girls I saw were perfectly healthy. As seen in the first video, you can see that her fins are clamped and she had what looked like slime coat on her fins, I wasn’t 100% sure. She also has major stress stripes going on. She is in a 3 gallon quarantine tank right now with some salt and meds to help heal.
In the second video, this is her after being in the tank for more than 12 hours and has already became super comfortable! Her stress stripes are almost gone and her fins are unclamped! She is also eating (giving her brine shrimp to help build her immune system).
She is super personable and has a lot of curiosity! She gladly greets anyone who comes to say hello as well. I believe she will make a wonderful recovery and will be forever happy!
Giving the frogs a treat 😋 Tubifex worms never fail!
Sorry for not posting in awhile, a ton of things going on!
I have a few things to say so I’ll keep it brief.
1) Benny has healed from what was actually a bacterial infection that was happening internally. Because he was under lots of stress (which is what caused HITH), his immune system was being suppressed and caused him to get a internal infection. He was treated for it and is already 100% better. I’ll be keeping him under observation a little longer but he will then be available for adoption again!
2) I will be uploading a new Illness File soon so keep an eye out for it!
3) for anyone wanting to adopt or know someone who does, I still have Cherry and Neptune available for adoption. Please fill out an application or message me instead (still unable to ship as I don’t have the material to do so).
The video is for attention (shrimp and minnow tank!)
Anyone who wonders about Benny... He was given his second dose of meds yesterday and he is already acting better! He was very lethargic and wouldn’t really eat but now is eating and is very active. If you look close enough, you can see all the tiny holes on his head.
The one malnourished guppy is also doing awesome! He looks like he’s gaining some weight and his tail is no longer clamped as it’s been since I found him. Of course I’ll continue to keep and eye on him but he is improving fast that he should be returned with some younger guppies! 😊
So I was thinking about something different and thought to see if anyone would like to see a Q&A? This gives people the chance to ask me any questions that have whether it’s for the rescue, maybe a fun question or even about me! (Obviously nothing personal, those kinds of questions will be ignored).
Answer the pole in the story and then respond to it with a question! (Names will remain anonymous)
Looking into the guppy world, I have gotten to watch one of my females give birth! I was only able to film one being born but I witnessed 5 of them being born!!
Neptune update!
He is still growing, and pretty fast too! And already flared at a pen. With the fin growth he’s been having, it looks like he may be a veiltail has his tail is trying to start the growth of a swoop! Of course we’ll keep an eye and see if that’s the case.
Two days ago, I had to also tear my rescue tank down as there was a leak coming from it. Thank goodness it was the filter and only had to adjust it BUT Benny is acting very weird. My heater for some reason was turned up very high so I turned it out, but he’s been laying on the substrate. Because of this, Benny will temporarily be taken of the available for adoption list as I will not give him away in his condition.
Cherry on the other hand is doing wonderful and is still waiting for his forever home!
When it comes to my guppies, I always separate the babies out the moment I see them. This last time there was babies, I chose not to because of how much floating plant I have to help them feel safe and secure, plus I was out of mesh baskets.
This little guy is an example on why I should have done it. As you can see, he has super low malnutrition while his siblings are not. I’m going to be separating him out and putting him with one of my baskets with somewhat young guppies so he gets the nutrients he needs to be healthy
I’m sorry little buddy, I’ll do what I can to make it up to you ❤️
**NOW AVAILABLE** (ADOPTED)
Meet Neptune!
This lil fella is the youngest betta I have brought in so far, young enough that I could not tell gender or figure out his tail type (gender is determined as male). My roughest estimate for age is around 3 months, maybe younger. As for tail type, my believe he could be a Halfmoon but being young, we just don’t know (is 90% possible to be a veiltail).
Out of all the rescues brought in so far, he is also our most healthiest rescue. He is a surrender. The original owner was given two baby bettas without notice. They also knows nothing about keeping bettas, so they were very overwhelmed. Luckily I have supplied them a lot of information, food, and links for tanks so she can tank care of the one she had kept.
Neptune is very unique and and has the biggest curiosity! He also loves to flare at his reflection 24/7. As for his attitude, he does not like snail 😅 every pest snail he has seen had gotten knocked off the glass or attacked; because of this temperament, I am not 100% sure how well he would do with possible tank mates.
Now for his care requirements... Surprisingly there isn’t a lot but I will require the tank to be 5 gallons minimum since he is very young and want to make sure he is very spoiled!
Is Neptune the one for you? Fill out an application or Message us or send an email to [email protected]. If you are interested in fostering, that option is available.

Would love to get an update on this little fella!
After a lot of investigation and care, this fella is a boy! There is no egg spot and so far ovaries cannot be seen. His fins are also growing out
As for his name; I wanted to make him off his coloring, so his rescue name is Neptune ⭐️
Most likely by next week, Neptune will be available for adoption with some circumstances since he is still super young
As for that 180 gallon in my story yesterday, I’ll do a post for it soon 😉 really proud of the tank setup
