Hi everyone!! To start this off, I want to say thank you to all the people out there that have came across my betta page and gave my page a like! Because of you all, we have officially reached 1,000 likes on Facebook!! Again, thank you all so much!!

Now on to the hard part; due to the unforeseen future, I will no longer be contributing into rescue, unless there happens to be a opportunity to start again. Although I may not be rescuing anymore, I will start doing daily (at least as daily as I can be) posts! These posts would consist of information for betta care, health and wellness, and will even get back in the groove of Illness Files to continue providing the best information for your betta’s health and happiness!

Once again, thank you to all the people who follow and give support to the page and I look forward to providing awesome information for the wellbeing of your betta, whether it’s your very first or an addition to your current betta hobby!

Hi everyone, I hope you missed me!

I bet everyone has been wondering where I had been as I had taken a long pause since certain events had risen, causing me to take a break, but I have an announcement to make!

Starting sometime in February of 2023, Lucky Betta Rescue should be back in full swing again with new rescues coming in!

For anyone who didn’t know, Lucky Betta Rescue had been ran by one person; but as the rescue starts back up, an additional helper will be joining to help improve the lives of our rescues.

If anyone has any questions, don’t be afraid to reach out! I am looking forward to coming back and rescuing more precious bettas!

Everyone meet our newest rescue! This fella was rescue/surrender situation as this guy was kept in a bowl. The family was moving and couldn’t take him with.

For living in a bowl, his health is pretty good, but his fins are very stunted, making them look clamped.

Hopefully this guy can show improvement in the fins in hopes we can see some growth. Wish this new fella some luck!

These two are adoption ready!

1) Meet Mohawk!

Mohawk is a red doubletail that is FULL of energy, enough to bring a ton of excitement into your life! He is very friendly and will happily greet your at the front of his tank. His fins are still growing in from after his Fin Rot treatment but he is in the clear! This fella needs a minimum of 5 gallons to keep this fella stimulated and happy. Snails can make awesome tank mates but other fish will need serious consideration (20+ gallons recommended)

2) Meet Azul!

Azul is a very mellow fella that likes to peacefully explore new locations. He thinks he’s very tough but doesn’t have the guts to hurt a fly- or, maybe he would? Either way, he is very gentle and a very sweet boy! A minimum of 5 gallons is recommended for this fella as he needs to be in a well-decorated tank to feel comfortable to explore. He had healed from his Fin Rot as well.

Both these bettas have severe Fin Rot. They were being treated at the store but were not responding to treatment.

If anyone is interested in adopting one or both of these guys, or, have any questions regarding them, please fill out an application or send us a message.

An update on the newest betta rescues; they are both improving very well, especially the red fella!

Their lights have been off at all times (except when I check on them) and they are almost done with their first treatment. There is still infection present so I may need to do a second round of medication to ensure the infection is gone. They are both eating very well and are also eh responsive!

Hello everyone; I am here to update you all about the two new rescues, for those who had seen their pictures on my story. For those who hasn’t seen it, here is the back story:

These two bettas have been at Petco for awhile. Before anyone can say they weren’t cared for before, I’ll let you know that treatment has been done and the infection was too aggressive. But these two bettas were treated and cared for with no success of healing. With that being said, they are now being cared for severe fin rot (one may have possible neurological issues).

So far they had made it through the night and were given their first dose of treatment today. Their lights have been turned off to keep them stress-free and will be given frozen food to help their immune systems. They won’t be put into our adoptable betta list for the first few days as these first few days are very critical and don’t want to give any false hope to those interested in their adoption.

If they both show improvement, a updated post will be done, meaning they are about ready for adoption!

Please keep these two in your thoughts as they begin their healing process ❤️

I know I haven’t really posted much about Star, but it is about time! Star’s foster parents have decided to adopt to lucky girl ❤️ Star is so lucky to have them and they do amazing with her care since her eye has been slowly improving. Here’s a video in her home being her spunky self!

*Please excuse the cloudy water, the tank was just cleaned

Hello everyone! Just thought this would be the perfect time for an update.

Firstly, if you remember the most recent rescue I have, I had decided to name him Tui. Sadly, Tui had past on Christmas Eve. I had went to check on the fish and Tui never came out to greet me. I saw him laying still on the substrate. When I moved the structure he was lifeless (he was also pineconed, in which was not present the day before.

Secondly, Neptune is officially pending for his adoption! He will be going home to a young woman in Lowell on Thursday who is awaiting his arrival! Neptune has been with me since he was a little nugget and seeing that someone is ready to take this fella home fills me with joy! Because he is going home, there should hopefully be room for the next rescue. For anyone who is wanting to adopt, I still have SunShine available, longing for her forever home. Star is currently in a foster-care position getting the best care of her foster family. She currently is doing great besides her one eye being a little cloudy but should hopefully clear up no problem! Besides the cloudiness, the swelling in her eye is going down, meaning she should be ready for adoption when the swelling has went down completely.

And thirdly, we have a new family member! His name is Bruce (yes, I named him after the shark in Finding Nemo). He is a King Betta who is currently living with my juvenile guppies and he does amazing!! Talk about the quote of “fish are friends, not food!”. Bruce is such a cutie and loves to be looked at. In the future, there will be a picture of him but for now, we have the famous Neptune ❤️

Meet our newest rescue! We don’t have a name yet (I have ideas though!) so I’ll be putting up a poll for deciding his name! If you have any name ideas, leave a comment down below!

As you can see, he has big fins- the previous owner says he has some wonky swimming but could be that his fins are heavy to drag around. For now, we will be placed under our two week observation period to ensure he’s healthy and should be ready soon!

Today marks the beginning of the foster program! Star, who has been with us for awhile due to her eye has been picked up by her new foster family!

At some point, she should be available for adoption if her eye does eventually heal; there will be info about that later.
