ABW Goldens is dedicated to producing quality AKC golden retrievers. Our goldens are our family members and hunting companions.

No little treats for us this year, just tricks from these two girls. The vet exam results were disappointing to say the least - no pregnancies. They both gained weight: Whisky +6lbs, Oakley +8lbs. They both had days of morning sickness and food aversion. Whisky has mammary development, while Oakley on the other hand looks like a dang Sherman tank. Vet conclusion: they are both experiencing false pregnancies, their reproductive systems look healthy and try again next spring. For now, these girls are going on a diet and extra exercise routine to get those pounds off and we will hope for pups next time.

We've got baby bumps! Both Oakley and Whisky puppies are due at the end of October. They will go in for X-rays and pup counts within the next couple of weeks. We are very excited about these breedings as we will be keeping one from each litter. Wait-lists, stay tuned as you will be contacted within the next few days to confirm your interest. Wait-lists are open for both litters. Please message the page if you are interested and want to be put on someone's list!

We brought Delta out for her first dove hunt and our best boy Gunner came along to teach her the ropes. She was a little nervous at first but after a while settled right into it and was following Gunner around. She even retrieved some birds herself after she was shown that's what we wanted. 49 dove between 4 hunters and these two retrieving. Not a bad first day on the job for Delta! Both Gunner and Delta are currently taking really good naps😂

This is the first year in a very long time that we have to sit out on the opening day of Dove season. Whisky and Oakley are both in heat and Gunner has been doing the other part of his duties all week. With those three firmly occupied and scatter brained, we hope to focus on Delta and introduce her to dove hunting before the season closes. For now, enjoy our past dove hunts and let's keep our fingers crossed for November litters! Best of luck to those out hunting today! May you all get your limits!!

It's official! Delta is registered with the AKC! ABW Hunter's Sunrise On The Delta, we can't wait to see what the future holds for you! Happy 4th birthday to our very first pups, the 2020 Gunner x Whisky litter!! We've loved watching these babies grow up and become the awesome, loving, hard working dogs they were bred to be 💕 Happy birthday to Blue, Ted, Navy, Kitty, Rosie, Tucker, Luke and Moose!! Give them all a big hug from us! HOW ARE YOU ALL 4 ALREADY?!?! 🎉🎂🐾🥳

We are very excited to bring this little girl into our family! Meet Delta! Worth the long wait and an out of state road trip, she brings in new genetics from two working field retriever kennels we have been inspired by for years. This girl shows pure genetic hunt drive and will be amazing in the field but also has the sweetest personality to be the family cuddle bug. We can't wait to watch her grow up with our son💕

It's been a while since we've posted as we have been adjusting to our new family addition, but Whisky got a good bath and grooming today! Gunner and Oakley are next in line this evening and tomorrow morning! Perfect cool down for summer! 🧽🧼🫧🐾

Happy National Golden Retriever Day from ABW Goldens! Today we celebrate this amazing dedicated breed. They are so smart, always willing to work, please, and they absolutely LOVE to cuddle!!! Our Gunner, Whisky, and Oakley love to do their jobs as bird dogs when the seasons come around but on their off time they spend their day sunbathing, playing on the farm, and getting spoiled rotten. Life truly is golden 💕

ABW Goldens cares about producing quality AKC golden retrievers. We love our golden retrievers first and foremost. They are a major part of our family! Our personal goldens are used for field work. We breed towards companions and working dogs. We wait until a female is 2 years of age and has the appropriate genetic and OFA testing completed before we breed and then skip every other heat cycle to promote healthier puppies and healthy moms. We have had all healthy puppies that have gone to great homes. They have become companions, field retrievers, and service dogs. We work on basic fundamentals with our puppies performing early neurological stimulation and commands such as sit, down, go potty and crate training. Great day outside today.🌞 Took the Golden nuggets out for some play time in the yard. They had a blast. 😁

Some vocal work outs. Oh the little boy at the end...lol 😍🤣😂

The babies had their dewclaw removal today and a checkup from the vet. Vet said they are looking just fine and the techs swooned over the little nuggets. As we waited for them to have their procedure done we went to the river to distract Whisky for a bit and get her some exercise. I think the water dog enjoyed herself🤣
