Accountability is something that is sorely lacking among many of today’s dog owners. Dogs are not born knowing human rules. Dogs do dog s**t. It is on us to teach the four legged predator we brought into our home how to live in a human world.

Practice makes perfect.
This even applies to your dogs and their training! I always recommend working on your dog’s obedience everyday! There are so many ways to incorporate training into your daily life.
Ask your pup for a sit or down before feeding each meal. Ask for a heel before you walk to thier crate/kennel to put them away before you leave.
While working with me, you should be doing 5-15 minute sessions 3x per day and focusing on what we have worked on in the previous session!

This was me yesterday! Even as a dog trainer I have days that my patience just isn’t there. It’s okay, take a deep breath, go back to basics and keep going!

I recently had a client tell me she used her retractable leash(that I had told her to throw away) and she got her finger caught in it. It left a pretty bad mark/burn on her finger and she is super lucky it didn’t injure her worse, or injure her pup. If you are using a retractable leash, listen to me and THROW IT AWAY!
