We’re wishing Audrey the best of luck as today is her last shift before she heads back to college!! 😭
Audrey was hired this summer and filled in at reception when Dawn and Amy were both recovering. She then moved to the yards and worked predominantly with the small dogs! 😎
Audrey is entering her sophomore year of college where she is pursuing her nursing degree!

Our back to school project is in the books! The pictures turned out AMAZING! Morgan knocked it out of the park! 🤩📸
The prints should be ready tomorrow! And the digital copies will get sent out next week! 😃💻

A lot of you may have seen Maximillion over the years, or even met him personally. He's been coming to Rosie's since he was a puppy. Every day. Rain or shine, Max, the German Shepherd was here. He'd hop out of his car and trot up to the building as his owners followed him, he didn't need a leash.
Most mornings Morgan or I would open the door and he'd make his rounds through the lobby, stopping to say hi to Dawn, Danielle and anyone who happened to be in the lobby. After he greeted everyone, he'd make his way down the hall toward the daycare yards.
We all loved Max dearly. Natasha specifically has known him since his very first visits here.
Shortly before I began, Max was diagnosed with cancer and given 3 months to live. 😢
Max surpassed that time by a full month and his quality of life never diminished until his very last day. He continued to visit all of his buddies in the big dog yard all the way until the end. Max loved splashing in water, whether it was the water bowl or the pools! He loved patrolling the yard and barking with his buddies.
He'll be missed by everyone here, humans and canines. Rest in peace good boy Max 12/12/16 - 7/26/24
On Monday, August 5th, we will be doing our next photo project: Harry Potter. 😁📸
This one is going to work slightly different than previous projects. The dogs will be sorted into one of four "houses." So when you check in on Monday morning please let us know which house you would prefer your dog to be in.
The options are: Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Slytherin and Gryffindor.
If you want your dog in a certain house please let us know! 😊
For those unfamiliar with the Harry Potter Hogwarts Houses:
Ravenclaw - (colors are blue and silver) - If they are an overachiever, not afraid to be themselves and very smart/good at learning new tricks!
Hufflepuff - (colors: yellow and black) - If they are humble, works hard, has good morals, is loyal, and loves to be on a team with other puppy friends!
Slytherin - (colors: green and silver) - If they are ambitious, cunning and resourceful, has a sense of humor and takes pride in their appearance!
Gryffindor - (colors: red and gold) - If they are brave, courageous, helpful, do what is right and like to follow the rules!
Photo's will start at 9:30am and we will be doing Ravenclaw first. If your dog is in Ravenclaw please be here before 9:30am 😀
Hufflepuff will be the 2nd house we photograph. Slytherin the 3rd and Gryffendor will be the last house. Each house has it's own set that we have to build and break down - so once the set is down we won't be able to get pictures of that house anymore 🙃

We’ll be taking pictures at 9:30am so if your dog can be here before then that would be perfect. 😊
We’ll post more details about which houses will be photographed first, as it will affect what time you’ll be able to pick up your dogs if you want them in a certain house. More details to come next week! 😃
Hello to everyone!
We've heard from multiple vets in the St. Louis area that kennel cough is going around again 😤
To help reduce the chances of anyone getting sick, if your dog is exhibiting any of the following signs/symptoms we'd highly recommend getting them checked out by your local vet!
- Reverse sneezing
- Coughing
- Discharge from eyes
- Discharge from nose
- Lethargy
Kennel cough is airborne, so being an outdoor facility helps significantly reduce chances of it spreading - however, nose to nose contact and sharing water bowls can spread it. Like most colds, there is no sure fire way to eliminate kennel cough if dogs are in contact with one another. Most of the time kennel cough is a mild cold and the dogs are back to normal within 10-14 days! 😊
Our staff works hard to make sure everything stays clean, the water stays fresh and up to our standards to help reduce any chances of sickness from popping up! But again, if you notice your dog with any of the above symptoms, please get them checked out 😀

Our July photo project is officially completed! 😃
And this one sure came with it's own set of challenges! When we first began talking about the project, it was a standard 4th of July theme - similar to June but a little more patriotic.
When Danger Zone played on the radio we were suddenly inspired to try doing Top Gun! 😁
(I feel the need, the need for speed!) 😉
I wanted to have a plane that the dogs could sit in and so we started looking at photo stills from the movie. Over the last three weeks we constructed a plane that was 10-feet long with an 8-foot wide wingspan! 😂
After the plane was built came the question of, "So now how do we get the dogs into the plane?" 🤣
During the photo project some of the dogs walked into the training area, took one look at the plane and said, "Nope." 😂
Other's loved it!
But we persisted, even when the plane was knocked over (multiple times). And even when a bucket of white paint toppled over and spilled all over the dark blue fabric as well as all over Morgan and me. 😂
Morgan absolutely rocked it taking the photo's - taking the time to get the best angles of each dog! We eventually caught our groove about 15 - dogs into the project and it went smoothly from there. 😀
There's no way we could have completed everything without our amazing staff! They added in a bunch of great ideas to enhance the project and stepped up to accommodate all the madness of a photo day! 🤪

Hello everyone, this is Danielle. I am pleased to announce that I will be opening my schedule one Monday a month, specifically the second Monday of every month except November and December, for cat grooming services. As a certified cat groomer with 10 years of experience and 15 years of experience with dogs, I am excited to offer my services once again. The price for either a bath or a haircut will be $80, and $120 for both.

We will be building full sets for the photo days and we’ll have extra staff that day to help with the project.😃

The Rosie's/Cool Runners family would like to give everyone an update on Dawn, our long time office manager. I wanted to make sure to get Dawn's permission before we revealed anything personal.
On Tuesday night, into Wednesday morning, Dawn suffered two strokes. Thankfully, she is okay and is expected to make a full recovery. ❤️
On Wednesday, we didn't know much, just that Dawn was being admitted to a room in the hospital. She was experiencing shortness of breath, dizziness, nausea and disorientation through Tuesday night and into Wednesday.
I think Thursday was one of the most difficult days of work any of us have ever experienced. Dawn's mom called us a little before 6:00am to update us. This is when we learned she had suffered from two strokes and that they didn't know the extent of the damage it had caused. Everyone's thoughts were on Dawn and every time the phone rang we were praying for an update with good news.
On Friday, we received word that Dawn was improving and that all of her tests were coming back with good news. She left the hospital and returned home on Saturday. 😃
On Sunday I spoke with Dawn on the phone and she sounded great. She's been steadily improving but also knows it's going to be a difficult road ahead. She has doctor's appointments this week and will be making some big life changes to prioritize her health.
There's no timetable yet for her return, we've asked her to take it easy and not rush coming back.
She will always have a place here no matter how long she needs to recover. 😃
We are all so thankful she is going to be okay and make a full recovery! I also let her know that everyone has been asking about her and she was very touched to hear that. ❤️
Please send prayers, positive vibes, healing thoughts and energy Dawn's way! 💙

Today is Maya’s 7th birthday!! This fun loving girl got to spend the morning with all of her buddies! She also brought in some treats to share with all of her friends, so be sure to stop by the front desk to grab some treats!! Happy birthday Maya!! 🎉🥳🎂
We are moving closer to updating our software!
We don’t have an official launch date yet but we are hopeful it will be the end of this week or early next week!
Our new software we are using is called Paw Partner. It has it’s own app that allows for a more interactive experience. 😊
You can upload records and info about your dog, you’ll have quicker access to daily photo’s and a personalized “timeline” to Cool Runners or to your own pet. You’ll get receipts sent to you automatically and all of our files will become digital. You’ll also be able to make appointments to some of the services from your phone. 😃
With all that said, you are not required to download the app to use any of our services! 😊
Daycare will still continue to be a walk in service. 😃
From the business side of things this allows most of our files to go digital. And we are able to utilize more tools for notes (training, grooming and yard notes) so we are able to communicate quicker with you and provide a safer experience for your dogs. 😃

We've been on a long quest to try to find the best way to bring high quality photo's from the daycare yards to social media - along with being able to keep everyone up to date about any news happening here! And I think we found the right formula! 😂
Going forward, our daily FB photo's will be in a new group that we have created (Cool Runners Daily Daycare Photos). Unfortunately we can't directly link to it, but we can send "invites." So if you are having trouble finding it, let us know and we will invite you to the group!
The current Rosie's FB page will be reserved for keeping everyone notified on some upcoming changes! (software, photo themes, closings, etc).
Please take a look at the small yard photo's posted in the new group. Morgan helped with the testing of our new system and she knocked it out of the park with some amazing action shots!
