Goals!!

While we are enjoying beautiful weather and a comfortable safe place of refuge at the Spotsylvania Animal Shelter, the hurricanes that have hit subsequently in the past week have left many county shelters flooded and completely uninhabitable. As a result, animals had to be evacuated and in need of establishing a temporary shelter until the permanent space is operational again. This will likely take months for them to be back to normal operations. One of our adopters/supporters has gone down to help in the rescue efforts and let us know the items that they seem to be needing the most. If you are wanting to help donate to the animals in need, we would appreciate having them by Wednesday the 16th, as our Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office - Roger L. Harris Sheriff will be handling the delivery mission to those in need. Our community has always been so generous and we have no doubt that you all will join in the effort to help these precious homeless animals without shelter of any kind. Thank you in advance for your generosity. 💗

Pupdate: Laney will be going to our rescue partner Sunny Bear Rescue!

Community we need you! Sister rescue needs us here locally ASAP. Do we have any Foster’s? This is a 501 C3 Rescue and this dog is in distress. She needs a home now! She will not come out from under the deck because she knows the people do not want her there. Main reason is she sheds she chewed up a fake plant we need her out of there.

PM me right away we can get her to you tonight or tomorrow morning, please!

Pupdate: ADOPTED 😍

In search of a local Foster in the Fredericksburg or Stafford area for six month old Ivy. She has been with us since April of this year. She is currently six months old about 45 pounds. She does well with other dogs she even attends our daycare. We have not tested her with cats. This would be a temporary foster between 30 and 60 days.

You also must have a fenced in yard and live in a home that you own or does not have any restrictions for your HOA. Ivy is very intelligent, potty trained, walks well on leash and is very obedient. She does not need to be crated. She’s sleeps out and left out in the house. She’s not destructive. She’s confident so if you’re looking to have her in a crate all day that won’t work either. 

If you are Akita Savvy, that would be a plus. But you cannot have any other female Akita in the Home or any unaltered males. If interested in learning more, please message us in an application will be provided. No out-of-pocket expense for you as the Foster we take care of everything.

Happy Friday everyone! We are so excited to share that the adorable Luna has found her forever! She and they have hit the jackpot. She’s also gained a fur sister and we couldn’t be more happy for everyone. Thank you so much for sharing and caring enough to help us find Luna her forever home.

• The previous family came to find that her human sibling had a severe allergy to dogs.

• Basic obedience is progressing. Sit, down, stand, loose leash.
• Crate trained/quiet in crate
• Well behaved while unsupervised in house-Potty training has been successful!
• Has a wonderful settle in public and at home

• Outgoing and Clown like with people she trusts
• Warms up to strangers with proper
introductions and when given space.
• stays close and loves handler engagement
• Very affectionate and goofy with her people.
• Slightly Sound sensitive
• Neutral to handling for
examination and grooming by everyone!
• Dog friendly to dogs and would like a home with other dogs.
Neutral to others in passing.
• loves to attend daycare and loves to ride and and go places!

Luna is still available for adoption. We have received several applications but none have been the right fit. We understand the importance of safety but we don’t believe kenneling a canine for most of the day is acceptable. Luna will of course need time to adjust to her new family but she does amazing being in the home without you outside of the kennel. You must also have a fully fenced in medium to large yard. She’s an active girl. She also needs another young dog in the home.

She was surrendered to us due to the allergies of a new baby in her initial family. She's fully vetted and has already been spayed. At just 12 pounds, she won't grow much more, making her the perfect size for any home. Luna gets along great with other dogs and kids, and she spends some nights in her kennel. She loves the water and hasn’t been tested with cats.

Her previous family had a German Shepherd, and the adopters who returned her also have a dog. Luna is as sweet as pie but tends to be a bit timid. We are searching for a new forever home for her and need your help to spread the word. She is being fostered by an amazing family and fur brother.

🐾 URGENT: Foster or Adopt! Stafford, Fredericksburg, Spotsy areas🐾

We need your help to save a group of adorable 12-week-old lab mix puppies. These innocent babies are in need of a loving home. We received a call, total transparency, and urgently for help! The sweep souls are at such a critical stage of life, and they are at risk of being taken to a shelter. Shelters are equipped to handle to keep the canine safe, but is no place for growing puppy They deserve a safe and comfortable environment, and with your support, we can make it happen!

🐾The puppies will be fully vaccinated and adoptive families will receive 4 complimentary training sessions with Woof Houze. Foster families will receive complimentary PlayCare (daycare services). Time is running out, and we want to ensure they have the best start in life.

🖐️If you can foster or adopt, please PM us. we will send an application. All costs will be covered for fosters, and adoption meet and greets can be arranged this weekend. There are 2 girls and 2 boys.

🐾 Meet Ivy, the adorable 14-week-old female Akita who is looking for her forever home! 🐾

Ivy is a special girl who requires a loving and dedicated adopter. It's important that the adopter is local to Fredericksburg, Stafford, or Spotsylvania and has previous experience with the Akita breed. Understanding the unique characteristics and being respectful of the breed is key.

In addition to providing a loving home, there are a few requirements that potential families must meet. Ivy cannot be left at home all day kept in a kennel. She must undergo at least 90 days of mandatory training with a positive reinforcement approved trainer in person with you the adopter no board and trains. This training will help Ivy thrive to become the best version of herself and to build the connection and understanding of the relationship with her family.

It's crucial to emphasize that adopting Ivy is a lifetime commitment, and potential families should not be swayed by her cuteness alone. Ivy is a smart girl, and obedience training has already begun. She is currently attending daycare and does exceptionally well in cars. Leash manners are a breeze for her, and she's working on her recall and off-leash training skills.

To ensure the right match, a series of home visits will be conducted. Additionally, interested individuals must fill out an application and be prepared for a $450 fee. This adoption includes a spay and gastropexy agreement, as it's essential to prioritize Ivy's health and well-being. She is currently on a homemade diet and it’s preferable for that to continue.

Rest assured, Ivy is up-to-date on all her vaccines and is ready to embark on her new journey with a loving family who will provide the care and commitment she deserves.
