Many cities have already adopted the practice of using silent fireworks for their 4th of July celebrations, out of respect for animals and Soldiers. It takes nothing away from the celebration. It’s been several months since we rescued Gigi, but these two still don’t get along, so this is a BIG win!!

Pigs are herd animals and operate on a hierarchy system. This means they will fight to establish dominance. We’ve never seen it take this long so we are extremely happy to have seen them laying down only feet away from each other. Hopefully one day soon, Izzy will completely accept Gigi into his herd of one and we won’t have to stress about injuries anymore!

As we close the door on 2020 and open the door to 2021, we want to take a minute to remind you that the best advice always comes from a llama, so stop listening to all the monkeys out there!! 🐵

We encourage everyone to give veganism a try for at least 30 days. There are so many resources out there that make it very easy, and contrary to popular belief it’s not expensive!

We want to thank everyone for their patience as we have been grieving the loss of our sweet Bella.
We have been keeping a close eye on Gigi to make sure she doesn’t fall into a depression and so has Marshmellow. These two have been inseparable! Gigi follows Marsh everywhere and Marsh is more than happy to keep her company.

Next week, Gigi will get to meet Izzy! Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 all goes well.

The hardest part of rescuing animals is the Inevitable heartbreak that comes with it. Yesterday morning around 1am, Bella passed away in our founders arms.

After Gigi and Bella’s arrival, during their health check up by our vet, we learned Bella had a severe heart murmur and was in heart failure. The stress of the move made things worse and Bella became constipated, which meant she couldn’t start her medication. Even after successful treatment of her constipation, her heart just couldn’t keep up.

The 7 days Bella was with us, she couldn’t have been more loved. She got to experience grazing in a pasture, rolling around in a mud pit, playing in a pool, meeting new animals and making new friends. She was the sweetest girl we have ever met. Our hearts our broken.

Please do NOT buy pigs from breeders! When you do, you are supporting a cruel and irresponsible practice. Breeding causes all kinds of irregularities and deformations. RESCUE RESCUE RESCUE!!! Also, do your homework and understand the responsibility that comes with taking care of animals. No matter pig, dog, cat, etc. It is YOUR responsibility to provide food, shelter, health care, and love. Bella would have live a much longer life if she would have been taken to the vet. Check ups are basic care! If you cannot provide basic care you should NOT have an animal.
