Augusta Dog Adoptions (formerly Chains Hurt) was formed in 2006. We are an all volunteer, 501c3 rescue group that takes in and adopts out dogs that are transferred to our organization from local shelters and high-kill pounds throughout Virginia. Dogs are “fostered” by volunteers at their personal residences until an adoption match is made. We provide rehabilitation and veterinary care to all dogs

in our foster program prior to adoption. Augusta Dog Adoptions works closely with the Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center, which gives us the opportunity to see firsthand where our services are most needed.

After MONTHS with NO INTEREST,
Annabelle is wishing for a little LUCK and alot of SHARES!

Annabelle is an 8 year old, purebred beagle who came to us for help finding a better family match. Annabelle is sweet and loving but she is a dog who does not do well with children who are too young to respect her boundaries. She loves her people deeply and does not want to share her family or home with other dogs. Annabelle is GOOD WITH CATS, and is a fairly slow, low energy gal. She would be perfect for a quiet, mature home that is looking for an only dog to spoil!

(Annabelle is sensitive to chicken proteins so a bit of diet management will be needed.)

***A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply to Annabelle, our seniors, and dogs with special medical or behavioral needs. ****

Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster-based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!

We are heartbroken to report that after being adopted from us 8 years ago...Jupiter has been returned to us because his family no longer had time for him. Jupiter's not one to hold grudges - he's ready to start fresh and find a family that'll stick with him through thick and thin.

Jupiter is housetrained, crate trained, walks well onleash, loves car rides, and other dogs. He's still a spry guy who has energy and likes to play. Jupiter is a kind and gentle soul who yearns for a family whose love isn't temporary.

(It was reported by his previous owner that he thought he had a seizure sometime back. At this time he has not shown any in his foster home. We are watching him closely and may be able to offer additional financial support to an adopter if issues would arise in the future.)

A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Jupiter, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other "slow to adopt" dogs!

Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA. YOUR DONATIONS AT WORK!

Taco and Izzy are on the road to recovery! We just spent over $1,000 on Taco! His mouth was rotten and he got 15 teeth pulled!
After being nursed through his ordeal by Izzy (see previous video) and his foster mom, they are one step closer to their furEVER homes!

Next step....we have an $1,000 estimate to get Izzy spayed, her teeth cared for and two remove her two largest mammary masses. We'll be posting cute pics and videos of them in the upcoming weeks in hopes of raising enough money for her care and most importantly, catching the eye of someone who will adopt them together! Izzy loves him sooooo much and will break our hearts if we have to separate them.

If you have any questions about Taco and Izzy or donating to support our work, reach out at www.augustadogadoptions.org

Thanks to everyone who supports our mission!
And HUGE thanks to their foster mother for excellent care!

Taco is Izzy's true love!

When he had to go to the doctor to get 15 rotten teeth removed, Izzy was very worried!
She's so happy that he is back home and she has given him a thorough check up!

These two sweet seniors have been through so much! It's just going to break our hearts if we have to separate them so we are begging you to share them with anyone who may be able to give them a home together! Most people don't want to adopt one old dog, much less two! We will provide as much medical care as possible before adoption and are happy to waive their adoption fees for a family who can take good care of them.

THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH....
to everyone who donated to Izzy!

She loves her brother Taco (from the same home) so much!

If you know anyone who would be able to GIVE THEM A HOME TOGETHER....PLEASE REACH OUT! It will break our hearts (and hers too) if we have to separate them! Next week, we will be raising funds for Taco's teef! They are rotten!

Last week, we took in three very sad seniors whose owners passed away and they are in dire need of medical care! Izzy is the oldest and most in need! Ear infections, constant itching, cataracts and large mammary masses are the issues that we can see! Izzy went to the vet and got much needed medications to make her more comfortable. She also got some bloodwork done so we can decide the best way to help her. In one vet visit, we spent $430 on Izzy.

Thank you, donors! YOU ARE THE BEST!

Remember Noah? Noah came to us a few months ago from our local shelter, Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center.

He spent about 4 months there hiding under his dog bed!
Now, he's thriving in a life-saving, foster home!

Noah is a petite, plott hound mix who weighs about 35-40 pounds and is about 2 years old. He's still scared of loud noises and needs a securely fenced yard and a least one other playful dog for him to be comforted by. Noah loves playing with the other dogs in his foster home. He is crate trained and is slowly building confidence, but will need a calm and patient adopter! Noah is a special guy who deserves the best of furEVER homes! And we are ready to help him find it! Can you be the happy ending that Noah has been waiting for?
