🐾💛 OLAF IS HOME 🐾💛 CAPTURED ON TRACK 🐾💛

After 3 long days on his own, Olaf is finally safe with his family — and what a journey this brave boy made. He traveled between Alexandria and Arlington Virginia along dangerous Route 1, weaving through one of the busiest areas imaginable.

Early this morning, a call came in with a photo of Olaf behind the Porsche dealership. Although we might normally pause tracking when sightings come in like this, we made the call to put Finley on the ground as Olaf had been chased by a large group of people, and we needed to know which way he went next.

Finley got to work and carried the trail nearly 1.5 miles — and then the call came.

Animal Control had Olaf safely contained inside a fenced area.

Finley had led us straight there. We were less than a block away — about 700 feet — when the call came in.

When Olaf finally saw his dad, he needed a few moments to process everything he’d been through. With patience and calm energy, Olaf realized he was safe… and went home where he belongs.

This is what hope looks like.
This is what teamwork looks like.
Every scent tells a story — and this one led home. 💛

That’s how long indoor-only Chloe survived on her own.

Together, we worked with the family daily, adjusting trap locations, shifting cameras, studying patterns, and troubleshooting every setback. We were close to a hand capture more than once… but each time, something small would derail the moment and we’d pivot again.

Meanwhile, Kimberly transformed the old “junk shed” into her mission base, spending hours upon hours outside—quiet, patient, hoping Chloe would walk right into her arms.

Miracles happen everyday & Shugar’s story is nothing short of just that, a miracle.

In May of 2021 a chunky, 7 year old, chihuahua mix (and her sister) were visiting family in the Richmond, Virginia area. With doors being opened and closed, the two girls saw an opportunity to explore on their on and jumped at the chance. While Shugar’s sister was quickly captured- Shugar was a bit more challenging.

Shugar’s family pulled out all the stops to bring their baby home including two trackers, hundreds of posters, and the best trapper that RVA has to offer - yet… no Shugar. After years of no sightings, no leads, and no answers, her family clearly feared the worst.

But Shugar had a different plan.
She survived. She adapted. She stayed close — hidden in plain sight.

And then, in October 2025, Sugar was finally found. 💛

From Maureen: “The trap only attracted a big orange sewer kitty… thing was huge! Two attempts to track got us to near where she was located, but she wasn’t ready. The area was under construction. She took over 3 years to finally come in to Jennifer’s house. After a couple months, she climbed on her shoulder like she did my dad’s, and began barking for treats!”

After living feral for over three years, sneaking Door Dash meals, avoiding every trap, and navigating active construction zones, she eventually walked into Jennifer’s house, who had actively been working to gain her trust.

Her finder reached out, her microchip was scanned, and her family got the message they thought they’d never hear again:

“We found her.”

Shugar is safe. She is loved. And she will spend the rest of her life in a home where she is treasured beyond measure.
