Ahhhhh a few days in and they are getting better at eating. This is Gruel. It is a mixture of pulverized cooked meat with puréed, pumpkin and canned puppy milk.
We generally start this process between four and five weeks of age where they have enough stability to stand at the edge of a bowl and lap up whatever is in there. We also have a small bowl of water down.
This is a huge transitional week for the puppies , we have now expanded their pen and created a room for mom where she can retreat for a little mommy time and dining time without her puppies hanging all over her. We’ve also put a litter box in their pen since they are on solid food Mommy is not going to be as excited to clean up after them. We train all of our dogs to use the litter box and there is no exception here Sage will go to the litter box and potty, and it teaches the puppies to do the same.!!
