It was a cold and windy day at the NJC Fallfest over the weekend but we still had fun!

Big World Lightning “Bugs” had his first show outing. We focused on it being good experience for him and helping him gain confident in the pen. Bugs even placed 2nd in the trail class which was a big class of Junior horses!

Miss Catherine rode Spirit in her first ranch horse show and won Reserve Champion in the All Around! She won the cowwork and was second in the trail with good scores in the other classes. Congratulations Catherine!

The NJC Fallfest closes out our 2023 show season. We are looking forward to what 2024 has in store!

We had a great time in Loveland for the CoWN Fallfest! The classes were the deepest and toughest we’ve seen all show season!

RJKThisCatsAZinger was a blast in the cowwork and won the open! Riata was a little spicy in the reining with a couple penalties but still had an overall good run. Trail had fun new obstacles and ended up 7th out of 19. Pleasure had a few hiccups but still scored a 71.5! Overall Riata came out 3rd in the All Around!

Riata and Tara were second in the ranch riding jackpot with a 146 and won a few dollars back!

We also had fun in the AQHA open ranch riding and trail placing 5th & 7th.

A huge congratulations to Catherine for winning Reserve Champion Junior Performance this week at the county fair!! Catherine and Spirit placed very well in all their classes in a very big and competitive Junior division, including second in horsemanship and showmanship! Catherine qualified for the Round Robin competition at the end of this week.

Catherine and Spirit were right up there again on Ranch Horse day and she also had great rides on her own horse, Tiger, on gymkhana day!

We are so proud of Catherine and all of her hard work leading up to fair. This was her first ever horse show!! It’s easy to say she’s a natural! Congratulations again Catherine!

RJKThisCatsAZinger and Tara had a great show last weekend in Cheyenne, WY at the CoWN Paintbrush Classic. They scored a 151 (1st) in ranch trail, 147 (3rd) in pleasure, 140.5 (1st) in reining, and 4th in cowwork with even some tough luck. Riata and Tara ended up winning the Open All Around again!

The jackpot ranch riding didn’t quite go as planned with a opps resulting in a few penalty points, but they still ended up 2nd with a 71!

This little mare is proving to be quite the show horse!!

We are working hard to keep improving for the next show!

Tara and RJKThisCatsAZinger had a GREAT first show of the year at the CoWN Spring Fling. The pair tied for first in the trail, 2nd in the pleasure, 3rd in the cowwork, and 4th in the reining to WIN the Open All Around in a big class! It was Riata’s second time ever down the fence and she handled it like a pro!

All glory to God! Onto the next one!

A little about us!

Kloberdanz Performance Horses LLC is located in Sterling, Co specializing in starting colts and training horses to show in ranch versatility classes. This includes reining, cow work, ranch pleasure/ranch riding, and ranch trail.

Tara Kloberdanz showed on the NJC ranch horse team and won multiple All-Around Champion and Reserve Champion titles during her collegiate show career. She also won the Reserve title in the 2019 National Western Stock Show Youth Mentor Matchup.

Between college years, Tara worked for Sharee and Steve Schwartzenberger and then interned for Aaron Ralston after college to complete her degree. Next she worked for renowned Arabian and Half Arabian trainer, Jim Hitt, for over 2 1/2 years. Tara learned an immense amount of knowledge and skill from Jim. She also won her first National Championship on a young Arabian mare that she trained under the guidance of Jim.

Tara has an extensive and impressive show record from local to National levels in ranch riding, reining, ranch cutting, trail, ranch trail, ranch rail, western dressage, and English trail on both junior horses and bridle horses.

In 2023, Tara started her own program
focusing on training ranch versatility horses. She strives to have quiet, confident horses that excel in the show pen and out. She starts colts at their own pace and sets them up to be successful in their future career. Tara operates with integrity and honesty, always putting the horse first.
