7pm Update - Opal and puppies are doing great. In fact we had a surprise at the last check, some time today Opal delivered another puppy! We have 11 puppies! Sally regrouped them numerous times to double check her count and Opal watched. Finally Opal licked Sally face as if to say "Hey Lady, I got this puppy thing. Done it a lot. You worry about my food and shelter! I'll deal with the puppies" Opal is quite the character with all sorts of surprises! ❤️🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾❤️

8am Update - we have 10 healthy puppies and Opal is doing fine. We are being patient with her given her past so we don't have genders yet or more photos. Will update as we slowly gather more information on them. Most important thing is everyone is looking good and Opal is calm.

Happening Now!!! Miss Opal is having her babies! Opal is the momma from a reservation in SD that has had numerous litters on the reservation and she was trapped 4 weeks ago and transferred to Dachsies to Danes a few weeks ago. Prior to her arrival, she would not allow you to touch her. She is allowing Sally to touch her puppies. We do not know how many little ones to expect....Currently we have 2 puppies, sexes unknown at this point. Opal has had several litters on her own so we are giving her some space.

Lenny came to us with his friends that were left running loose with quills stuck in their paws and noses. He is a happy go lucky guy.

*Needs work on his manners.
*Kind, crazy, silly boy.
*Loves other dogs just not a huge fan of young dogs.

Chaske came to us with his buddies that were running loose for a long time with quills stuck in their noses and paws. Mr. Chaske is a smiler and a shy at first but gentle giant.

*Ok with select dogs on his own terms. He can be very picky about who he likes.

Kandy Kane, he came to us from North Dakota after another rescue reached out to see if we could possibly place him and his other friends and of course we fell in love with that sweet face. His friends have both found their homes but sadly he has not. While we don’t know much about this handsome guy, we know he loves people and other dogs.

Miss CoCo, the hunt trained princess. Miss CoCo was an owner surrender. She has been with us for awhile and has a lot of friends, she’s always looking out for her older friends. This stunning girl is hunt trained and loves other dogs but likes to protect her food and possessions.

*Well mannered.

Wally Bear, the cute smiling boy. He is half poodle half Chesapeake. He came to us a month ago and has made himself at home. Another sweet guy that ended up in rescue at no fault of his own.

*Likes food a bit too much, he will protect it.

Crazyyyy Nash, he is a bundle of energy. Nash came to us because of no fault of his own. His owner had major health issues and could no longer care for him. With that being said, he’s been here with us for only a month or so but he’s settled in quite nicely with us and has made a lot of new friends.

*Knows his commands but to happy to do them.
*Loves to play.

Turk, he is quite guy. He was an owner surrender. We have don’t have much of a backstory on this handsome guy, but the short time he’s been with us he has won us over.

*Shy at first but once comfortable super lovey.
*Well mannered.
*Unknown about kids or cats.
*Has been ok with the male dogs he’s met but hasnt spent a lot of time with them.

Asher is a strong willed young man. He was surrendered to rescue due to being a little to much and knowing just what he wants. He needs a strong leader whether it’s a four legged or two legged one. He likes to test his boundaries.

*Likes other dogs but prefer females over males.
