Well you know what they say, one Big Sack goes great with two….Roosters. Well I don’t know if thats what they say, but it certainly sounds like something we would. Ya hoo, we made it out of the krazily kitchy, mesmeriziningly cheesy, and ultimately bizarre world of South of the Border alive. Worth the stop on any East Coast road trip. Where is your Big Sack?

Jekyll Island GA is where the Big. sack and Dagny Dog find themselves. If you haven’t been here and you love the ocean, please check it out.
The island has a charm that I haven’t encountered anywhere else on the East Coast. It’s very intimate and old, almost spooky at times. The driftwood forest is a section of the beach covered in old trees. It literally looks like another planet. Then you have Old town where former industrialists cottages, 5-15k sq ft mansions have been preserved from the early 1900’s that are surrounded by massive plantation oaks swimming in spanish moss. Lets not forget the sea turtle hospital (you can see the recovering turtles and interact with the staff.) And the shrimp, my god, prepare to be astounded. Empty beaches this time of year, and did I mention the dog friendliness is on point. Almost every restaurant has outdoor seating that welcomes Dagny with open arms. Do yourself a favor and visit when you can. Driftwoodforrest
