Hashbrown is a 11 month old male full blooded standard poodle. This is one of our project dogs. He is not failing out of our program. We just don’t have a project for him and I don’t want him sitting any longer than he has to. We don’t like our dogs sitting to long without jobs or homes.

Hashbrown has a lot of training. He will not be free mainly due to the fact that we had to buy him and we’ve done a lot of training with him.

He is good around other dogs, kids and adults Can be a little bit, socially awkward at times, but nothing concerning.

The dogs we train couldn't do the jobs they do without the AMAZING school counselors who handle them! Happy National School Councelors Week to all our handlers and every other counselor out there who does this job.
It is a tough job. I've seen first hand the struggles they face, but also the joy they bring. The difference they make to the children. Thank you for all you do, this week and every week ❤️

They are saying it will be the worse cold in 6years!

Severe Weather and out side dogs:

Ok its about that time of year were the temps are gonna dip to the single digits and lower. Everyone is going to start screaming about bringing your dogs inside. DONT DO IT. Here is the deal you need to provide suitable shelter, food and water year around no matter the temperature. If you choose to keep your dog outside provide them with a proper dog house, straw or bring them in to a garage or barn. Make sure they have food and clean water.

The temps pushed zero or lower. The snow fell and the wind blew. if your house is 68 (ours is 70) thats a temperature difference of 68 to 70 degrees. You do the math if it’s -20 that’s a 90 degree difference. You are much more likely to cause your pet a heat stroke then to freeze it you are doing more harm then good. You CAN NOT just bring them in and when it’s cold you need to provide proper housing all the time!! Not just went it’s bitter cold or a snow storm

Pro Tip for your Xmas Puppies

"He was already in the crate all night so I feel guilty putting him back in"

That playpen is holding my (then) 2yr old, Emma. I can't remember what I was doing that day/time exactly but I know I was busy. Busy enough I couldn't keep a proper eye on her so to the playpen she went. Even AFTER she had slept all night in her crib, spent meal times locked in a high chair and possibly was even strapped into a car seat or stroller. FOR HER SAFETY and my sanity. Because every moment I wasn't able to give her my full attention, she was sure to be putting something in her mouth, pulling things off a shelf or end table, bothering a dog, almost falling down the steps or opening my damn cabinets to pull out pots and pans!

Same rules apply to your to your dogs! Crates are amazing tools for a number of reasons but if you don't use them for any other one, please use them to keep your new dog/puppy safe and put them away when you cannot give them your full attention!

They are also great to help with potty training, creating structure, giving your dog a decompression area and having a dog comfortable in a crate makes life's emergencies much less stressful on your dog!

It's that time of year again ...
Maybe consider reaching out to a local rescue and try fostering in December to see how prepared you are and how responsible your kids are before getting a new puppy for them!
Other things to consider are ALL the costs that go along with a new puppy. Equipment, food, vet care, grooming and training!
Research different breeds! Not sure where to start?! Find a local trainer to discuss what breed would fit you and your family best!
And for the love of all things holy, use a crate if you do get a new furry family member!
