All parrots bite. It’s not a matter of if but when. I am dedicated to raising extremely social babies, but they are not unicorns. If you want a bird that will not bite I recommend Walmart or Amazon. Now, there are some flavors more likely to be “nippy”, lovebirds top that list (in my opinion), then there are the birds that go through “stages” like Green Cheeks and Ringnecks. Last is the “year of hell” a.k.a bluffing in the larger species. Don’t even get me started on cockatoo cute aggression. Moral of the story, if you are scared of a bite, birds are not the pet for you.
On a side note: There is no such thing as a quiet parrot!

If only we could keep them all…..

Some of my flock. These are the parents of the babies available to pet homes that are still in breeding setup. I rotate flight cage time to give the parents much needed space/enrichment, so the current flight cage residents are not in this video. Cockatiels are currently caring for babies and in a completely different space so they are also not in this video.

There is always one that thinks they are the boss, Maverick and Kai are in disagreement whom gets that role.

Warning: volume down! Cockatoo singing the song of her people! I cannot believe this love bug is still waiting on her people! These guys are so much sweeter than Green Cheeks. Yes, a little pricier due to the difficulty of successful breeding, but so worth it.

Just because I am a huge bird enthusiast doesn’t mean my flock has their “stuff” together 🤣

UPDATE: No longer available! Cute boy up for grabs! He was set up as a breeder, but as you can see is very well suited to a pet home. He is a nervous Nancy so requires a somewhat quiet house (exception is bird noise). His exact age is unknown, my guess is around 4-5 years old.

Since she did so well with a Quaker, we gave her a chicken egg to see if she could incubate it. So far the chick is developing perfectly. Now we know she can sit a macaw egg if momma macaw needs help! And don’t worry, we will make sure momma Grey gets an egg anytime she so desires. She definitely LOVES motherhood!

These beauties were never given bugs before I bought them. It took a while for them to realize bugs are edible but now they devour them! Please do your research before committing to a new pet. Proper diet is essential for a long, healthy life.
