🦄🐂🦁 Happy Howl-oween from Do Better Training! 🎃✨
Halloween can be a blast—but it can also be overwhelming for our pets. Here are some Fear Free tips to keep tails wagging and stress low:
👻 Costumes
🎯 Train & Prep Before the Big Day – introduce costumes slowly with short, positive sessions. Let your pet sniff, explore, and wear it for just seconds at a time, rewarding calm behavior.
🙅♀️ Ditch It If It Causes Stress – costumes should only stay if your pet is comfortable. If you see signs of stress (stiff body, lip licking, trying to escape), celebrate with a cute bandana, collar, or themed toy instead.
🦴 Enrichment Over Candy
🍬 Chocolate & xylitol are toxic. Instead, keep pups busy with puzzle feeders, frozen Kongs, or special chews while you enjoy your treats.
🚪 Management Matters
👶 Use baby gates or keep pets behind closed doors to prevent accidental escapes during trick-or-treat hours.
🏷️ Double-check collars & ID tags, and make sure microchips are up to date—just in case.
🌙 Quiet Time Is Okay Too
Not every pet wants to join the spooky fun—and that’s perfectly fine! 💕 A cozy, quiet space away from the action (with a favorite bed, toy, or calming music) can be the best treat of all.
Because when we know better, we do better—our pets deserve a Halloween that’s fun AND fear-free. 🐾✨
