Here’s a recent hoof project I have taken on. I have been trimming Natasha every 4 weeks for the last 3 hoof trims. Starting to see a big difference. A few things were coming into play to cause this issue. She has been having her foot continuously wrapped with a supportive pad. You can now see she has close to a half inch of connected hoof wall coming down from her coronary band. The blue on her foot in blue kote for a spot of separation on the sole that was a bit rotten. She’s also been getting some cold laser treatments.

My handy work casting a 3 day old lamb with a broken leg. The break is right above the ankle joint so I had to cast up to the knee.

Dixie had severe founder with extremely contracted heels. After a year of consistent trimming and taking the heels back her foot is now looking and acting normal again.

Fixing more underrun heels. Feels like that’s all I do these days. Probably the most important thing you can learn to do to help horses feet. I have heard a lot that under run heels and laminitis is genetic. It’s NOT! there is a huge difference between a horse with genetically deformed under run heels and a horse with underrun heels from bad ferrier work.

Rasping the crusty periople skin to exfoliate it. This detaches it from the heel and heel bulbs. It lets heel bulbs move and decompress

My clients message about her horse Mystic is really amazing. And a testimony to what TACT can do for horses. This horse has come a long way in a very short time. When we met her owner was coming to a point where she thought she would have to put her horse down. Vets said it’s laminitis and it’s changed her foot.This horse couldn’t walk in September. On a ton of meds everyday. We went through casting and a strict trim schedule every 4 weeks. Now she’s running! Ill post updated pictures at her next trim.

It’s really cool seeing my business expanding and my talent with correcting foot issues progressing. Im sending mark ups to a new client in Hawaii! I guess they need a good hoof trimmer out there! Hawaii Here I come!

Trim on a two year old. Half of her foot is starting to flare out and heels underrun and flaring out on one side. The larger side with the flare means that her digital cushion is thinner and not absorbing the shock as well when she walks.
