It’s Springtime and this means momma and baby bunnies. Here’s a great DIY way to keep their ground nests safe from dogs

Please share and help us continue to educate the public on keeping cottontail bunnies in the nest to be raised by mama. Even when you have dogs and outdoor cats, it can be done and it's not even difficult!

Mama cottontails are extremely dedicated and do not abandon their nests. They are not deterred by protective measures like the one in the pic below (📸 Cottontail Cottage Wildlife Rescue). A little bit of extra effort on your part can save many lives!

For those out there that think ‘French’ Black Cooper Marans are the same as Black Copper Marans, there is a big distinction of the breed. Here’s a simple characterization between the two, the French Black Copper Marans have feathered feet. Whereas the Black Copper Marans have non feathered feet known as, clean legged.

At Summit Ridge, we have the French Black Copper Marans (FBCM) and pride ourselves with keeping their lines true.
