As bow season approaches us, we have the opportunity to possibly harvest a velvet whitetail in Georgia. This is not a easy achievement field care is critical for a quality mount. I highly recommend packing a bath towel in your pack or just in your vehicle. Once deer is recovered simply wrap the towel around his antlers and get him cooled down asap.Velvet this time of year wants to fall off so take care in loading him posing for pics, or getting him out the woods.I will be caping and quartering deer I mount this year to insure quality, early on a taxidermist has to decide to be quality or production driven, I chose quality and will go to whatever lengths I need to to give my clients a realistic mount that will last a lifetime, just call 229-343-0776 for any questions thank you

Now we have our tanned cape prepped,form altered to fit that cape, its now time to mount. Glue is a must for longevity of the mount,The next few weeks will be constant adjustment of the cape as it dries to a reference of a live deer to the season of the deer, again a early season deer will show more detail than a heavy swelled rutted up deer will. The second step to a quality mount, is proper fit and adjustments, I fit my form to your cape, all animals come in different shapes and sizes, a early season cape or a full rut whitetail has distinct features that need to be captured in your mount, when I mount a animal full attention is on your piece, I put quality over quantity , I appreciate all my clients and strive for realism, taxidermy work is not all equal, Jesse Tillman (229) 343-0776

First step to a quality mount is a quality tan, while there are great tannerys, I choose to in house tan all your trophies, the preservation process is complete before your animal ever touches the form making a tan a superior method to ensure a long lasting mount
