There is no doubt to us that having a Koi pond in your yard becomes a place that allows you to get away from the every day grind. We hope you think so too.
Today marks the start of Mental Health Awareness week. 🧠

We thought we'd share some ways in which owning a pond can contribute towards good mental health. 🐟🐠

Members of the Goldfish Council are donating rare and unique varieties of goldfish to grow out in one of our mud ponds for the summer! We are stoked here to see what they will become! Thinking of spring cleaning your pond with the weather warming up?
Here's our Top Tips to help you check off some key issues on your cleaning list 📃
1) Remove the built up debris from the top of your pond and sludge from the bottom (Remember to be gentle to reduce stress on your fish)
2) Clean your equipment, filter, pump, UV, etc. to get the most efficiency out of your pond.
3) Restore bacterial activity, you'll want to provide a boost to the naturally occurring and necessary organisms that help break down the organics in the water passing through your filter system (Our PURE range is an excellent choice😉)
4) Check how much you're feeding you fish. Feeding your fish too much with the warm weather spiking can cause a drastic increase in ammonia level that could be fatal to your fish!
5) Remove as much blanketweed as possible! This pesky filamentous algae tends to bloom in spring and summer and its grown can be accelerated by the nutrients in the food we feed to our scaley friend plus it has a nasty habit of clogging up our filters and pumps.
(We have reliable and fish safe treatment ‘Stop Blanketweed’... if you didn't know! 👀)
