MLM Gelbvieh • Epley Cattle

MLM Gelbvieh & Epley Cattle market Gelbvieh and Balancer seed stock in South-Central Nebraska. The females are sold private treaty throughout the year.

MLM Gelbvieh has been breeding and selling Gelbvieh and Balancer seed stock since 1983. We continue to be in the top 10 in the nation with Dams of Merit and Dams of Distinction with the American Gelbvieh Association. We have also achieved the bronze level in the Gelbvieh Performance Program since it's inception in 2009. Our bulls are offered the first Monday of March each year at our open house.

Our ranger ride couldn’t get much better.
🔶Miss 301 (first calf heifer) had twins overnight and is doing great taking care of them.
🔶There was a beautiful sunset while checking the cows.
🔶The bouncy ranger ride was perfect for an evening snooze.

As the 2024 season comes to an end we are reflecting back on all of the great moments from the year and look to move past the challenges 2024 presented. We thank our valued customers for supporting our business in 2024 and look forward to providing another great group of bulls in 2025.

We enjoyed having Nate Stokes from Lawrence-Nelson shadowing today. As part of their mentoring program the students choose a mentor for the semester. They shadow their mentor and create a presentation about their experience as well as a research topic in the related field of study. Nate said he plans to research the EPD’s of differing breeds of cattle.

Today, he and Cole tattooed and collected DNA samples of the bulls that will be in our sale this spring. We enjoyed having Nate and look forward to presentation day at the school in December.

“Maternity Leave” is officially over. Cole put me back to work this weekend gathering pairs for weaning. Krew was happy too because he got to spend a lot of time with his grandmas!!

Krew and mom got out of the house last week to check on cows with dad. Everyone was enjoying their serving of milk, the calves and Krew!!

Lot 3157L - 1/2 Gelbvieh, 1/2 Angus A Civil War son to be used on mature cows. He will add pounds to your calf crop. His weaning EPD is in the top 2% while his yearling EPD is in the top 1%. He had a 104 ratio at weaning and a 114 at yearling with a WDA of 3.56 .

Lot 362L - 3/8 Gelbvieh, 5/8 Angus Another extremely powerful bull sired by Wow Factor. He has 6 EPD’s in the top 1% of the breed and top 10% FPI. Weaned off his 2nd calf dam with a ratio of 113, and incredible carcass data with a REA ratio of 109, Fat Thickness ratio of 152, and IM Fat ratio of 128. His dam is now 2 for 2 on her offspring making the sale catalog, and his granddam is a 3 time Dam of Merit.

Lot 3158L - 1/2 Gelbvieh, 1/2 Red Angus A calving ease son of the popular Just N Time bull. Just N Time has an average birthweight of 78 lbs on 139 calves in 30 herds. Top 20% for CED and BW, top 50% for WW and YW and top 10% for Milk. 83 lb birthweight, actual weaning weight of 816 with a WDA of 3.73.

2024 332L

Lot 332L - 3/8 Gelbvieh, 5/8 Angus 332L ranks in the top 1% in 6 categories, including the Feeder Profit Index. Unbelievable growth numbers on this bull that weaned off his 2nd calf dam at 698 lbs, and had a yearling weight of 1243 lbs. Couple that with REA ratio of 105, Fat thickness ratio of 115 and IM ratio of 122, and you can see that he will produce outstanding calves in your operation.

2024 MLM 340L

MLM 340L - One of our favorite bulls sired by Esquire. He is 1/2 gelbvieh, 1/2 angus and double black, double polled. He has solid growth and maternal numbers and was weaned off of his 8 year old dam weighing a whopping 725 pounds on September 5th.
