Hello all!!! Arthur here (the dog in the picture). We had a great day today at the shelter!!! Mercury (another dog) and I got adopted along with 3 sweet little kittens (Sylvester, Titan and Meow). Yep, it's been great getting the shelter reopened (after the storm). We missed all of the friendly visitors that are here looking for a furever friend!!! If you're still looking for one, yes, we have both kitties and dogs waiting for their furever family so come down to see us.
We open again on Monday and 10 am.

Brunswick County will remain closed Thursday, Sept. 19 due to impacts from Potential Tropical Cyclone #8. Essential public safety staff will continue to monitor and respond to community needs and safety in the aftermath of the storm.

The Fix A Friend Spay Neuter Clinic has been waging war against pet overpopulation completing 120,000 surgeries since 2013, usually 100 per day. All of our spay, neuter and wellness checks are handled by this team. They need all of our support more now than ever. Adopt-An-ANGEL is the 501(c)(3) that created this critical county asset. They are accepting online donations at www.adoptanangel.net to help them purchase the equipment they will need and possibly use a temporary facility.

WE ARE ACCEPTING DONATIONS TO REBUILD! Fix A Friend Spay Neuter Clinic and all equipment is owned by Adopt an Angel, a 501c3 charitable organization, tax id 20-057652. We were flooded with 3-4 feet of water on Monday and 80 cats, 20 dogs and staff were evacuated by boat to the animal shelter because owners and rescues were unable to come back to get them due to flooded roads. The clinic has flood insurance, but that does not cover CONTENTS. We are assessing the damage to equipment and will have a better idea now that we can get inside and floodwaters have subsided. We know we will need washer, dryer, refrigerators, two $20,000 autoclaves, 6 anesthesia machines. The insurance will help build it back to the way it was. However, we have had TWO 500 year floods in 6 years so putting it back the way it was is not the answer. We need to build it back bigger, higher and better than it was and if we could DREAM, we would add in a small adoption center for the cats, kittens and dogs Adopt an Angel rescues---we own two acres. We would love to get off of a septic system and tap into county water. We are talking with our contractor who is meeting with architects to raise the entire building 6 feet. We will get a gofundme up soon, but there are other ways to donate to us. All donation checks must be written to Adopt an Angel, since that is the charity behind the clinic. Again, please make the check out to Adopt an Angel. The clinic has done over 120,000 surgeries since 2013 and we typically do over 100 surgeries a day. Over 40 animal rescues and shelters have no way to get their animals fixed until we are rebuilt. We gotta get this done and done FAST! Will you help us?

Pup-date!
Our hearts are filled with the love and amusement we get from Callie, formerly Becky. We’ve shared some great first moments like her first time catching fish in our backyard pond, her first ice cream pup cup, first trip to the beach, road trips, and bubbles! She loves her big brother, Cooper. She also still loves those belly rubs! She loves going to Lowe’s and Tractor Supply because she has made some friends there that think she’s super sweet and they always give her treats. Lucky girl! 🤣
Thank you all for everything you do with these animals to help give them a chance at a new life.

Happy Friday!!!! Ruby (pictured below) , Saturn and Cowboy all found their furever homes today!!!!! Looks like Ruby already has a new buddy!!! Little update on Pterodactyl (previously baby). She's living her best life still a few years later!

Hi! just wanted to send y’all another pupdate. Daisy Mae has settled in so well! She loves her new life. She is happy and healthy. Daisy is such a sweet girl. she loves everyone. She enjoys cuddles, kisses, walkies on the golf course (i call them sniffies) and sleeping on the couch both when i’m at work but also when we’re home. She is so perfect and is my best friend. thank you for letting me take her home with me❤️ she is the best dog ever.

PUPdate on Zeke known as Jasper. Skylar and he are becoming great friends!

PUPdate! Timber (aka Bear) is celebrating his 5th gotcha day! This pup continues to love going on adventures with his family. Highlights this year included camping, completed his first obstacle course 5k, and road tripped throughout the southeast. In a few weeks time, he will even be helping his mom and dad get married! He truly completes our furever family.
