Volume up for maximum munching! 🥰🍃 here’s happy Lovage munching on some wood sorrel. Mommas with babies get extra treats here!
Chores today have included bunny midwifery… one reason I’m not a fan of first time moms. She had her babies on the wire rather than putting them in a nest box. I found them in a massive pile of fur under her cage, the fur is the only thing that saved them. Then when I put together a nest box for her, she was more interested in eating the hay rather than tending to her babies. Here’s to hoping she starts to take care of them.
Summer breeze, crickets chirping and goat bells jingling 🥰🍃 #maine #summernights #peaceful
Baby hollands munching on some clovers 🥰🍀
Stay hydrated and cool this week! Waters are topped off all around for the afternoon, everyone has ice and the goats have electrolytes. Here’s miss Dandelion gulping away at her “Gatorade”.
Nest box check in! Myrtle and dobbys litter is 10 days old and the foster from puddle and dobbys litter is 9 days old. Colors are really starting to show now and eyes should start opening in a few days! Possible colors include: sable chinchilla, heavy pattern broken smoke pearl with white ears, two lightly marked brokens in lilac or smoked pearl, and possibly a sable frosty. Puddles single is looking like a blue eyed white, but we will see once eyes are open. Very pleased with how these fully pedigreed babies are looking!
Snacking on strawberries 🍓
I’m very excited to announce a third fully pedigreed holland lop litter! (No you did not miss a post about a second litter, we had a momma have only a single one survive so that one is being fostered with the first litter). But for this litter, I bought a beautiful bred doe from a great friend at Goodnight Moon Rabbitry, so this is technically a goodnight moon litter. Only 2 but they are sooo pretty! One chocolate with a possible Vienna mark and a broken black.
Our very first litters of pedigreed holland lops! I have been waiting for this day for a long time now 🥰 there are 2 litters in this box, one is a singleton from a not very good momma. But all are doing well now! I look forward to seeing them continue to grow!
Morning milking from my point of view! I am also fully weaning the kids now, so please send ear protection! 🤣🤦🏻♀️
Little popcorn babies bouncing around this morning! Our newest litter of baby bunnies, pure standard rex. These ones can be partially pedigreed once they’re ready to go. #babybunnies #standardrex #farmlife
I could play this on repeat all day! Birds chirping, bees buzzing, baby chattering, flowers and everything that feels like summer! 🥰🌷🐝 #farmlife #sahmlife #honeybees #dandelions
Flower Hounds Farm Johnny-Jump-Up out for a stroll today! #registerednigeriandwarfgoats #farmlife #goatkids #johnnyjumpup #buckling #nigeriandwarfs
Here’s 14 yards of top soil with hard edging on the paths and a sprinkler system set on a timer for five weeks!
**this project was extra special and fun for Caleb. A wife contacted him about doing it as a surprise for her husband, who is an Active duty service member. He completed it in just two days while they were on vacation!
