Nothing like a little bit of garden time to reset 🥰🍃 I was finally able to harvest ONE black beauty tomato! More are on the vine that don’t look like they have any signs of blossom end rot, but I’ll be saving seeds from this one as a back up. My little keeper holland lop doe is looking very nice as well! Now that she is maturing I’m finally able to get a good look at her color (even though she looks all white), it appears that she is a white ear frosty. She is the only surviving baby from a failed mother that supposedly had some genetics from New York, so I am looking forward to what she can do in our rabbitry!

These two boys are being heavily D I S C O U N T E D! No fault of their own, I just have too many baby boys in one of the grow out pens. They would do great in a pet home and they are super friendly! 8️⃣0️⃣ each. I can get updated pictures of them as well.

For those that are unaware, Beans was able to rejoin our farm family! 🥰 baby bean was a birthday present from my husband after we got married since I was unable to have a cat growing up due to family allergies. We are guessing she was around 5 weeks old when she joined our family as she was a tiny little puffball. After moving and her going to a temporary home she is now back and on official barn cat duty. She is also finally fixed after a larger than expected vet bill 🥴

I am pooped after today, this heat and humidity really sucks it out of me! 🥵 but we did some disbuddings today and hoof trims! Also got to see some disbuddings that we did one and two months ago that are healing great with no signs of scurs! Enjoy some sweet baby goat pics 🥰

PENDING! We have decided to let Trillium become available! The original plan was to retain her and show her next spring, but she is our only retained doeling this year and is a bit miserable because of it. Lots of great genetics in her pedigree and I can send pics of their paperwork. She can be registered before leaving! Wattles, fawn eyes and a few moonspots!

Thanks for the shoutout Madison! We will have lots of heirloom starters again next spring! Tomatoes and peppers, melons and likely a few different kinds of squash and possibly pumpkins! Organically grown (not certified) heirloom and or organic seeds.

We are currently set up at Trenton Grange 550 Farmers market! Come check it out! We have baby bunnies for petting and holding, discounted heirloom tomato and pepper plants, houseplants and bouquets. There are other vendors here with cut flowers, baked goods, plants for the garden, strawberries and even a sharpening service! I got my goat hoof clippers sharpened and he did a fantastic job! They had a big divot in them from cutting into a pebble while trimming, and that is no longer visible! We are here until 6.

Pedigreed holland lop babies! This is 3 different litters that are available, pics of parents available upon request. First litter of 5 is Myrtle: broken smoked pearl VM, bred to Dobby: sable WE VM. Second litter is a goodnight moon rabbitry breeding of Star: broken blue (show line), bred to orange VM. And the last single is a breeding from Puddle: black torte VC, bred to Dobby: sable WE VM. Rabbit sales policy 🐰🏠

No rabbits may leave our rabbitry before 8 weeks old, but a reservation may be placed on a baby of your choice after 4 weeks of age. A reservation requires a nonrefundable deposit of 50% of the rabbits price. A refund will only be issued if anything happens to your rabbit in our care.

Waitlist will get first pick of any babies before they are posted. Message either the farm page or my personal page if you would like to be added to a waitlist.

Once a rabbit leaves my care I am not responsible for any vet bills that may be needed, including a spay or neuter if that is what you decide. All rabbits are sold healthy to the best of my knowledge.

I will always have first choice on any babies that we may retain.

Bring a proper carrier when it is time to pick up your bunny/bunnies. After babies turn 8 weeks I will coordinate a date and location for pick up if you are unable to meet locally. Pick up locations will more than likely be Bangor or Ellsworth, possibly further south upon occasion if I have multiples from a litter needing to go south.

We are always willing to take back a rabbit if you are no longer able to provide care for it, no refunds given. If you are a breeder and decide to sell one of our rabbits at any point in time, I would like to be notified first.

All sales are final and nonrefundable. A refund will only be given if your rabbit passes in our care, or you will be given the choice to pick another bunny if there are any left in the litter, or wait for another litter.

Prices are based on quality, type (body structure), color and eye color. We aim to breed for a mellow and friendly demeanor, rabbits that are aggressive or high anxiety are not kept in our breeding program. Our pedigreed holland lops will range in price from $100-$250, (average price of $150). Occasionally we will have pet quality holland lops for $60. Our other breeds of rabbits, standard rex and New Zealand cross, will range from $30-$45.

We accept cash, check, Venmo, and PayPal.

If you are unable to meet and pickup your bunny within a week of them turning 8 weeks, then there will be a $10 charge per week it stays at our rabbitry. This covers cost of continued care for food and housing. If you do not respond to any messages in a 2 week period of you bunny being ready to leave (10 weeks of age) then your rabbit will be forfeited and posted againh for sale.

Bunny introductions! Last weekend we drove down through Maine to pick up some new breeders, that included 4 holland lop does and 3 standard rex. First up is White Mountain Lops Moo-lah! She was the main reason for this trip, but we won’t tell the others 🤣 she is a gorgeous extreme VM black holland with blue eyes, and some day she will grow into those long ears. The next 3 are some beautiful does from one of my favorite breeders in Maine, GoodnightMoon Rabbitry. A Sable Frosty, Siamese Sable and Blue chinchilla. The last 3 are some beautiful standard rex originally from Sunstone Orchard and Rabbitry!

Little bitty hollands lops are growing quickly! Myrtle’s babies plus her foster are 2 weeks old now. Eyes are open and they are starting to venture out of the nest 🥰🐰 reservations will open up in 2 weeks once genders can be confirmed and I will be putting together a sales policy and pinning that to the top of our page.

New herd member: Blackstream Farm B LacyLou! This girl joined us shortly after we got Maple Blondie at the goat show. I cannot wait to see what she will do for our herd! She already has a reserve champion ribbon and I look forward to showing her more!

ATTENTION SURRY RESIDENTS: please go vote for the local food and self governance ordinance on June 11th! This would be huge for surry and for us here at Flower Hounds Farm! This would make farming, producing and selling so much easier within the town of Surry. If this is passed then we would no longer have to sell our farm items labeled as “for pet consumption only”, we would be able to label it as “for human consumption”. This would allow us to sell directly to you: farm/home processed meats, raw dairy milk and home made products such as cheese/yogurt/kefir/etc. And if you are not a Surry resident, but would still like to help then please share, share, share!

New herd member: Lonefeather Farm Maple Blondie! To say I am obsessed with this lovely girl is an understatement. And to top it off, today is OUR birthday! Right before I went to walk her in the ring I found out the she was also born on may 27th, so I now have a birthday buddy! This was my first time showing yesterday, and it was also her first time going into the show ring. She had zero show training beforehand, other than day of training with me. And this sweet girl placed 5th in her class! I can’t wait to see what she will do for our herd!

Our very first goat show is in the books! We attended the Wicked Early Spring show in Windsor on Saturday. None of our herd came with us to the show, we mainly went for the experience and to learn about showing. We met so many great people and made new friends! I want to say a huge thank you to everyone that let me play a part in prepping their goats for show and helping to walk them in the show ring! Also a big thanks to Heather berry at Clover Ridge Farm, Carissa Larsen at Lonefeather Farm and Stacy Collin’s at Haymaker Farm for being super welcoming and making me feel like family!
