It's been a couple of years since I have actively raised peruvians and Peruvian satins. Over the winter, I was fortunate enough to borrow a great Peruvian Boar I bred from a good friend, Sue Cochrane.
I Paired him with some of my best silkie sows and was fortunate enough to get quite a few offspring. These are what I have retained to work on my goals of a gold Peruvian program.
Very happy to have them in the caviary again. Didn't realize how much I actually missed having them.

Had a wonderful day yesterday at Garden State RCBA Show. TRC Heyyy Daddy was Best In Show & TRC One N Only was Reserve In Show under Paul Jergelonis.
TRC Heyyy Daddy was again Honored with a Best In Show Under Frank Westley.
Very much looking forward to watching these 2 young seniors come into their own with time.
Congrats to Phyllis on her HM with her Teddy under Paul and Frank. Congrats to Becky for her RIS with her Coronet under Frank!

This little man has some big shoes to fill. My dearest friend, Linda shared with me a son of TRC Whit, 2023 ARBA Convention BIS winner. Can't wait to watch him grow and see how he develops. Many thanks to Linda!

Beyond humbled by the response to the animals offered in the auction. I take major pride in the animals I produce and love to share with other breeders when I can. I will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the youth which are our future in this hobby we all love. Details to come in how these funds will be donated. Congrats to all of the winners and look forward to seeing all who are able to attend at specialty.

I have had many messages regarding available animals in the past few months. I'm not one to keep lists of what people may want. Just not enough time in the day to keep track. I'm looking into the option of offering animals to be delivered to specialty via online auction. More details will come as I look further into this option. I'd like to give everyone equal opportunity to the ones I will be offering.
Sneak peak of one I've chosen to offer in the next couple weeks. Beautiful junior Boar who will be an asset to a program. Tons of substance with coat coming. He will make a phenomenal convention prospect and or future brood prospect. Only thing I can ding him on right now is his lack of color depth but other qualities supercede this fault.

Keep an eye out here for updates. I have a bunch of young ones right now growing out. There will be quite a few more juniors available for delivery to ACBA Specialty. Mostly Silkies and possibly a limited number of silkie satins and peruvians. Will also have a very limited number of brood animals available as well.
Details to come on format of these offerings. Most likely will be posted available the 2nd week of April.

Doing a few routine baths on some brood animals today that needed it.
This is a boar who has been incredibly influential in my program. He is currently just over 2 years old and still maintains an incredible amount of density and pretty darn good texture for an older Boar. His littermate sister was 2022 ARBA Convention RIS winner for Linda Loucks and he produced Linda's 2023 Convention BIS Boar. In my program he has produced incredible Boars and Sows that have shown well or made fantastic brood stock..
I guess my big point in posting this is when you are looking to add animals to your program, really think about asking for a good Boar. A boar can do so much more for your overall program than a sow can. 90% of the requests I get are for sows.... I get it. We all do need Sows to make more offspring. With that said, A boar can do soooo much more for your overall breeding goals.

Fun little color differentiation post. Beige vs Lilac is always such a debate. Modifiers can change hues to both. I have a litter of 2 right now. 1 being Lilac and the other beige. In my eyes, these are the shades I'm looking for and you can clearly see the difference.
Hope this can help some who struggle with these.

Can head to Pasrba. Intermediate (Senior by weight) Dilute Agouti Broken Color Boar. Excellent show prospect. Having to thin down and make tough choices as I have several Boars in same class and age range.
