Come join me for a really fun class!!

We are excited to offer another “rein it in!” class beginning on August 26 Monday at 6 PM ( no class Labor Day) This class is specifically designed for dogs with a lot of energy or who are highly excitable, and lack impulse control.
We will be focusing on self control and good manners as well as balancing the highs and lows of excitement.

Our expectations are not to create dogs that are always calm, or that don’t get excited… that would be an unrealistic expectation. Rather, our goal is to teach both the humans and the dogs how to control and harness the energy that these dogs have. We will be teaching you tools to control it, and giving your dogs healthy outlets to express their energy, and ways to better control themselves.

Class will be meeting for 6 consecutive weeks for an hour each week at 6 PM at Dogz Gone Wild starting August 26. There is no class Labor Day. Cost is $225 for the 6 week session.

Each class will include both discussion on good habits and ways to best control excitement and exercises to teach your dog how to calm down when he gets excited, along with exciting games to allow for excitement which we will properly channel so your dog has a way to express that excitement in a healthy way.

There will be chances to practice around other dogs and distractions which will add to the energy of the room making an amazing opportunity to learn and develop the skill of self control when excited !

We have some exciting news! We’ve had a lot of interest in our Hybrid Scentwork Program and are beginning another session just for Beginners!!

Are you looking for an activity to do with your dog over the summer? Are you looking for something fun to do with your puppy? Are you looking for an activity to help build confidence while also burning energy in your dog or puppy? Then try our scentwork program . This program accomplishes all of those things!

Scentwork is a sport based on canine detection training. Dogs work to detect & locate target odor. We begin with your dog searching (sniffing out) food, and use odor puzzles to get them excited about searching.

Scentwork is great for all dogs, as it builds confidence, exercises the mind and gives dogs a low impact activity option.

Join us for our Introduction to Scentwork Program beginning Thursday July 25 at 6 pm

This hybrid program runs for 4 weeks and begins with a 1 hr class, followed by 2 weeks of video lessons, and concludes with another 1 hr class. It also includes a beginner scent kit for each participant.
Cost is $200

I’m excited to offer some new competitive obedience classes over the next few weeks Tuesdays in Central Square and Sundays in Baldwinsville !!

Beginning July 2- 6 weeks ( consecutive Tuesdays) Fleishmann Field 39 Chesboro Rd Central square $125
Classes are 50 minutes long

2 PM starting open
Beginning open class addressing all of the open exercises including Fronts and finishes and heeling - perfect for a new to open student or one looking to fine tune some skills

3:05 Novice skills/ heeling skills
Novice obedience exercises with a focus on tying the skills together. Fine tuning of heeling and fronts and finishes and attention work!!

4 PM Utility
Proofing and skill building at the utility level. Focus will be on putting the exercise peices together

Beginning July 14 Sunday 5 weeks Consecutive Sundays 73 E Genesee street Baldwinsville ( Dogz Gone Wild) $150
Classes are 50 minutes long
11 am Intro to competitive obedience
This is a great class for anyone starting a young dog or older dog who is interested in beginning some of the skills needed for the sport of competitive obedience

12 pm open obedience (will also be touching upon heeling skills) this class will address, teach and proof dependent on dog level the open exercises, we will also do some heeling and fine tune that!!

Manners on the Move begins May 23 Thursday 6 PM Locations vary (parks centered around Baldwinsville area)
**This is a SUPER FUN CLASS!! We take all of your obedience skills and bring them on the road working at parks in the area! Last classes had us working our leash manners past an SU party at Onondaga lake park, working on sit stays in front of playgrounds, polite passings past noveldogs, sit stays while a concert in the park plays.. the distractions were endless!! This puts your training out in real life!! Sky is the limit distraction wise. This class makes your dog really strong with manners out in public!
$150/ 5 weeks of 50 minute classes
In the case of bad weather, this class will be held at Dogz Gone Wild in Baldwinsville

New PUPPY class beginning WEDNESDAY February 28 6 PM at Dogz Gone Wild in Baldwinsville!!! We will work on teaching your puppy how to settle on a mat, sit, down, and begin stays, leash walking and come when called! New Canine Good Citizen class beginning TUE January 23 at 6 PM in Baldwinsville at Dogz Gone Wild ! This class is based upon the AKC Good citizen test https://www.akc.org/products-services/training-programs/canine-good-citizen/canine-good-citizen-test-items/ which focuses on good manners around the presence of other people, dogs and distractions. We will be working on polite passings and polite greetings of dogs/ people, longer stays with distractions and longer distance and other fun training challenges!!! What is nosework? Nosework is a dog sport which is based off of canine detection training. Dogs work to find target odor wh in searches. We begin your dog hunting for food using odor puzzles and games to get them excited about hunting!! This class is a fabulous class for dogs who are shy and need to build confidence, energetic dogs who need a job and anyone looking to have a blast with your dog!

**This class is for beginner dogs who have had basic training.
**We will take the basic skills and continue to work to sharpen them. Polite greetings, polite dog passings, and stays/ loose leash walking with distraction will be worked on.

Canine good citizen class in Baldwinsville at Dogz Gone Wild has been a bunch of fun. These dog and handler teams were challenged the other night by wheelchairs, greeters in medical boots and a variety of items one might see in a hospital type setting. We practiced polite greetings with these distractions, longer stays and recalls, and they owned it. What a pleasure this group is!!!
