Sally is now in her new home ๐Ÿ’™. Thank you for everyone that reached out and asked about her. She is doing fantastic and fitting in already.

We have two adults looking to be re- homed in a perfect atmosphere.

Sally is a black female never had puppies, perfect temperament and loves everyone (she will need to be spayed & is 5).

Sam has been with a family prior however is back with us and at times does not like other dogs other than our girls here. He will need to be fixed and is also 5. Sam will need time to get used to new people so we would asks the person willing to take him come visit a few times to make sure itโ€™s a good fit.

Please send private messages only as it gets too much responding to everyoneโ€™s message here. Interested parties only please.

Sallyโ€™s pics are the fist 3 followed by Samโ€™s

Looking for a great home for this handsome fellow. Unfortunately, his previous owner has been transferred overseas. This guy needs a great deal of attention and has not been in a home with small children. He will need to be nurtured as well as slowly transitioned into his new home.

Please PM if interested, serious inquiries only.

To everyone that has been patiently waiting for babies, unfortunately we are sad to say the breeding did not take so back to waiting for another heat cycle. We are hoping to do two litters. Hopefully we can breed Willow and Delilah in August when they come into heat.

Hello all my lab lovers, followers and lab owners ๐Ÿ’™. With a very busy work schedule (both the kids and I) we have decided to hold off breeding any of the girls until spring. Hopefully both Sally, Delilah and possibly Willow will come into heat anywhereโ€™s from March up till May and we will be breeding at least one of the girls with the potential of two.
As many of you know already it takes a great deal of work and for the first couple of weeks we are basically right with mom and the littles 24/7. Steven, Laura and I can best support and give all the attention too a litter more towards spring when we can split our time and working schedules a little more consistently. Winter litters have never been something we do here at S and L ๐Ÿฅถ. Spring will be a great time!!!
Please keep in mind I do not sell my puppies for breeding. ALL puppies are sold LIMITED registration only. If you are still in my list check back and we will have updates as to which of the girls has been bred and to which male.

This may not be easy for some to read that understand the love of dogs/animals however please read it all once you start.
Dogs are amazing. Our wonderful companions bring us endless joy and happiness. We play together, hike together, run together, sleep together, eat together, and so much more. Our dogs are valued family members that love us unconditionally. We care for them as best as possible, and they return the favor. Having a dog in your life is enriching beyond imagination. Unfortunately, we all have to say goodbye to our dog at some point.
Rosie was nothing but the best dog, momma, companion and general sweetheart we could have ever asked for in a lab. We have so many memories of her being a ham, a little stinker and a best friend. In the words of my son Steven, Rosie was half human and that half was what we all wish human kind could be like. While my daughter Laura would say, Rosie should be the role model for all dogs everywhere and a few people. And for me, ah no one quite ever appreciated the special genius of my conversation like my Ro Ro did. Trust meโ€ฆI would talk to her all the time when no one else would listen.
This last week Rosie starting exhibiting signs that she just wasnโ€™t herself or feeling well. At first we chalked it off to heat, but by the third day she began to get worse and decided eating was just not for her. Long story short and two vet visits later the news went from bad to worse. Upon the second visit at the vets I learned and had to decide by myself, quickly our girl would not be coming home with me alive.
Hereโ€™s where it gets hard people. First, let me say your pets are and want to be part of your family. They provide you with unconditional love. They are not accessories or impulse items that you should purchase ever. They are real, living and breathing. Pets and dogs must go to the vets on a regular basis and I cannot stress enough to be mindful of TICKS and LYME disease.
What happened to Rosie was caused by ticks or a tick and Lyme disease. At the age of almost 9 Rosie started to exhibit signs of neurological problems and her last two days with us was falling over, couldnโ€™t control her body from shaking, refused to eat and could barely lift her head. The Lyme disease had simply attacked her body and her kidneys were failing.
Lyme disease is treatable however it is also deadly and as we have learned with Rosie there are no guarantees. Here is a small breakdown of Lyme disease.

How Quickly Does Lyme Disease Progress in Dogs?
Lyme disease has three stages of progression.
The first stage, called Localized, happens within a few days of the bite and infection. This stage may have symptoms of itchiness, redness, and irritation at the site of the bite. A fever and muscle aches may also start to show.
The second stage is Disseminated. This is when the infection has spread to other parts of the body. This stage takes a few weeks or more to reach. Worsening symptoms may appear.
The final stage is Persistent. This stage comes months or even years later. The most common symptoms are arthritis and neurological problems. This stage may still happen even if the Lyme disease is treated.
Will My Dogโ€™s Lyme Disease Come Back?
Yes. Dogs that get bitten and infected with Lyme disease can get sick again. Lyme disease is a chronic problem that can flare up again in the future. Your pet will need to go through another round of antibiotic treatments to fight off Lyme disease.
Will My Dog Always Test Positive for Lyme Disease?
It depends on your dog. Most dogs can remain positive for Lyme disease for years. However, since testing is looking for antibodies, the levels will go down when your dog is not sick. Lyme disease will be in remission when the antibody levels go down at least 40%.

Rosie never had arthritis and the final stage came on like a vengeance quickly destroying our dogโ€™s appetite, love for hiking, playing and overall love for life. I am no expert at all at a lot of things and by no means Iโ€™m I perfect with perfect labradors but what I do know is get your dogs test yearly, get your puppies on tick prevention and keep them on it. Talk to your vet about the best treatment for ticks, make sure they have the Lyme shot and do what you can to keep them safe. Should you have to put the down Please donโ€™t leave your dog alone in its final moments. Your dog most likely doesnโ€™t understand what is happening and is scared. Your presence will provide comfort. Holding them, caressing them, and helping them stay as calm as possible will make everything easier for your furry family member.
Of course, you know what is about to happen and itโ€™s not fun or pretty at all. As soon as the Dr. Told me her kidney levels the tears began to stream down my checks like tiny waterfalls. As I looked at Rosie she laid her face in my hands and just wagged her tail, still unable to get up but by golly that tail sure could work. Remember we are humans and crying is perfectly normal; still, be there with your dog. It will be overwhelming, and you may experience anger at what happened; still, be strong for your dog. Your friend needs you to be there; please donโ€™t abandon your family member in this moment of need. Watching your dog pass away will be difficult, but you will hate yourself for the rest of your life if you leave.

Please donโ€™t feel bothered by this postโ€ฆit is simple a reminder to keep your dogs on tick prevention and keep them as healthy as you can. We canโ€™t bring Rosie back and we desperately miss her already but we can try our best to prevent this from happening to your puppies.

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ Cheers ๐Ÿป to Rosie, Nova and all our beloved four legged family members we have lost along the way.
