Our graduated friend Lily AKA Stinks is here for a visit, boarding with us for a bit and we love getting to catch up with clients we haven’t seen in a while 💜🥰🐾
Owner Tricia LiAna is an ATT judge and AKC evaluator who trains under the LIMA guidelines She had also been working with rescue dogs before coming to Elite K9.
(2)
Owner Tricia LiAna’s love for dogs and training started at a young age. She grew up in a family that owned and ran a professional kennel training hunting and sporting dogs. Her passion for rescues led her to adopt an abandoned Catahoula Whippet mix who is DeafBlind. Her connection to the DeafBlind community, and fluency in ASL made her a good fit to provide clear and constant communication with t
his special pup. With the guidance of Elite K9, she trained her Norsayan Mastiff as a mobility and medical alert SD, through the Canine Kinship program. Hanna Myers, then mentored her to become a partner trainer under her well known and respected company, Elite K9. She is now a recognized AKC evaluator. Tricia trains in positive reinforcement methods and strives to learn the least abrasive and science based ways to engage with dogs.

For those wondering why Azu’s hasn’t been featured in a puppy jumpstart training video over the last couple of days. I have some bad news.
Azu became ill, presenting with diarrhea, vomiting, loss of appetite and fatigue. She was immediately taken to an emergency vet with the impression that she might have contracted some thing like Giardia or coccidia, which is very common in puppies, and easily treated with medication’s when they are prescribed before the case escalates. We were triaged at the emergency vet as non-emergent compared to other cases, and waited for a very long time to be seen. Some of these photos of her are just us hanging out in the car waiting our turn.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t as simple as we all had hoped. She had a condition called intercepting organs, which is not hereditary, and could not have been avoided. Veterinary staff reassured us that we had done everything we could by getting her medical treatment right away and this is unfortunately some thing that they can’t always pinpoint the cause of. It was just very very unfortunate.
In grown dogs, there is a surgery that can sometimes help rectify that condition. However, quality of life had to be taken into consideration, and because she was so tiny the veterinarian on site did not feel comfortable putting her through surgery as she was not likely to survive anesthesia or to survive the night.
I stayed with her and held her so that she felt nothing but love and affection from a familiar person in her last moments. It has taken me some time to process before being able to share with all of you and to be honest I’m still heartbroken.
Her owners never had the opportunity to even meet her in person, and they are going to be incredibly challenging process of losing a puppy, they were so excited for, yet never got to hold so please respect their time to grieve and process this as well.
She also came from a fabulous breeder who had taken every precaution to health test and temperament test her dogs, and the litter, and screened buyers, all to provide this puppy, with the best possible quality of life. Despite having done everything she could, she is also feeling this tragic loss.
Mr Bohdi has been adopted !
Poor thing lost his first owner tragically and was moved into an amazing foster home when the surviving family couldn’t care for him. We worked on training for months to help him overcome the trauma and all the stress of transitioning twice. Now he is settling in with his family in his new home ☺️💜 we love happy endings

Only fully trained service vehicles allowed here ! 😂
I do know what this sign actually is referring to but after just explaining to some one the difference between dog friendly location and Service Dog only locations. As well as the severe and negative impacts that pet dogs make in service dog only environments. I had to laugh. Sadly this sign may be better enforced 😅
This darling goofball is Bohdi - AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
Unfortunately, his owner has passed away leaving him in a position to look for a new forever home. His owners surviving family has been caring for him for the past year while they grieve their loss, however, they cant keep him any longer.
He has been in training with me for the past two months to build his confidence, work on some leash manners, and prepare him for his adoption. He also is scheduled for a meet and great with a potential foster family soon.
He is a two year old German Shepherd / Newfoundland mix, up to date on his shots, and has been raised around other dogs. Cats and children unknown
He is shy and slow to warm up at first but a cuddly love bug after he has gotten to know you.
To be completely transparent he does have a bite history, however it was provoked by the person in question and a patient / experienced dog owner could handle him without additional risk. If you are interested in him I can share all the details.
Meet Molly !
One of our most recent graduates. In the past few months she has built her confidence, got her barking under control and has become less dog reactive. Her adorable personality is now shining through. So proud of her and her own for all their hard work. This does also open up a position in my schedule, so if you have been thinking about starting training now is the time!

Meet Hutch! 1.5 year old male
Highlighting adoptable dogs from
This pup melts my heart every time I work with him. He is a bit shy and nervous (given all he has been through it is understandable) and needs someone who is patient and willing to go slow with him.
HUTCH has had quite the journey into rescue, along with his friend Starsky, having traveled halfway across the country with assistance from AMAL (Alaskan Malamute Assistance League). He is understandably nervous and shy with our volunteers, we hope that he will settle in soon and show us more of his personality.
HUTCH needs a family that has the time and patience to dedicate to him to help him learn how great a malamute life can be.
Meet Kanga!!! male almost 7 years old
Highlighting adoptable dogs from Washington Alaskan Malamute Adoption League - WAMAL
This sweet boy is another that has a special place in my heart! Gentle old man is a bit particular about the equipment he likes and doesn't like for walks but he is a joy to spend time with.
KANGA thrives on adventure and would love an active adopter who will take him on adventures and give him plenty of play time!
Kanga is a loyal guy and will be a great companion for someone. He LOVES the snow in the winter and to swim in the summer. His number one favorite activity (even more than walks and treats) is going for car rides! He likes feeling the wind in his face through an open window (car surfing). Kanga is incredibly observant and curious.
Kanga’s comfort with people has grown significantly while in rescue. He does need a little time to build trust, but eventually he will follow you around and give you kisses! He is also quite affectionate and loyal to those he bonds with.
Kanga has excellent house manners and is happy to chill on his bed or lay beside you as you work. He has basic training and knows: sit, down, come, get it, stay, and release and is ready for the next level of training. He is very treat motivated and responds well to a clicker.
Kanga just needs to know you can be counted on to pay attention to his physical cues when he’s feeling overwhelmed.
Meet Ford!
Highlighting adoptable dogs from Washington Alaskan Malamute Adoption League - WAMAL
Okay I (Tricia) am personally very found of this big boy! And he needs a to find a forever home ASAP. As rescue dogs go he is a dream in so many ways as he is well trained and socialized, however, he is currently working on kennel training and separation anxiety with his foster family. He will come with a very detailed care plan and training routine as well as support via calls and text with his current foster mom to help with the transition to his forever home.
FORD is a big, goofy boy who loves playing with other dogs and is gentle with children. He is knows all the basic commands; "sit", "down", "come", "shake" but he has selective memory with "stay" and "heel". FORD easily walks on a leash without pulling. He loves car rides especially if they are to fun adventures like hiking and parks.
FORD is a smart pup, once he learns something he will do it over and over, showing off just how smart he is. He needs a large, secure yard that he cannot escape from.
FORD loves attention and needs to be with a family who can interact with him daily and provide him with a loving bond so he feels like he’s included in your “pack”. Are you the active and loving family that can give Ford the furever home he deserves?
Meet Dezy ! 7 year old Female
Highlighting adoptable dogs from Washington Alaskan Malamute Adoption League - WAMAL
Dezy is new to the rescue so more to come on her soon but so far we know she is sweet, energetic, and friendly but dog reactive.
Meet Dakota ! 6 year old Female
Highlighting adoptable dogs from Washington Alaskan Malamute Adoption League - WAMAL
DAKOTA is a sweet girl who loves playing with toys and her sister, NICOLE. When you first meet DAKOTA she may be a little cautious but will warm up quickly because she also loves pets and attention. She would enjoy a nice yard to feel safe in, but is perfectly happy being indoors or going on car rides with you. She knows some commands like "sit", "lay" and "shake".
DAKOTA and NICOLE are a bonded pair and need to be adopted together. They both will excel in a furever home that will spoil them making them feel like princesses.
She is currently living at our Malley Valley resort, socializing with other dogs and our volunteers.
Meet Nicole ! 6 year old Female
Highlighting adoptable dogs from Washington Alaskan Malamute Adoption League - WAMAL
NICOLE is an energetic girl who loves playing with toys and her sister, DAKOTA. When you first meet NICOLE she will run to greet you becase she loves to meet people, especially if she receives pets and attention. She would enjoy a nice yard to feel safe in, but is perfectly happy being indoors or going on car rides with you. She knows some commands like "sit", "lay" and "shake".

Meet Pheonix ! 4 year old male
Highlighting adoptable dogs at Washington Alaskan Malamute Adoption League - WAMAL
PHOENIX is a large boy who loves adventures, playing fetch and getting all the scratches you are willing to give. He enjoys playing with stuffed toys that squeak, if it makes noise he will love it! Treats you say? Oh he will do so many tricks for you for snacks. He can sit, down, shake, other paw and more!
With a striking appearance and a heart full of love, he is on a journey to find his forever home. This sweet-natured canine requires an owner who can provide consistent guidance and training. PHOENIX thrives on mental and physical stimulation and requires an engaged owner who can provide him with ample opportunities for play and exercise.
Despite his occasional mischievousness and counter-surfing tendencies, PHOENIX's loyalty and desire for affection shine through, making him a wonderful companion for the right family willing to give him the love and structure he deserves. He is still learning to trust other dogs, so he would do best in a home as the King. He loves all the attention, and will fill your home with fun, silliness and snuggles!
PHOENIX is currently enjoying the amenities of our Malley Valley doggie resort.
Sunday and Monday are usually our days off weekly but this weekend we will be away from our phones as well. If you have any emergencies please contact your veterinarian or proceed to your local emergency veterinarian hospital. We will be back in office and to session Tuesday 4/9.
Thank you all for your patience and support 💜
