So as I sit here reflecting on yesterday and how quickly an amazing day can turn horribly wrong and how much some people do not deserve to breathe in the same air as these babies. Having a great time at our event and Cait text me about 3 TINY pups that were thrown out of a car and were with someone who absolutely did not want or care about them. Thank goodness a neighbor had taken them from him and brought them to us. The one baby boy was in bad shape. I rushed home, grabbed rhe 3 and straight to cairo with them. Dr. Greenberg cannot figure out what is wrong with little man but does all he can and checks out the other two who are doing pretty well considering! His temp is way low so we situate him inside my shirt to slowly warm up on the way home. He cries off and on all the way home and when I pull up in the yard he passes away. If you dont know what its like to hold a tiny 2 lb baby in your arms while he takes his last breath its heart wrenching.
He died because people suck!!!! He is laying on my front seat wrapped in a blanket because my day started at 4:30 am and finally got home at 9 pm and was beyond exhausted and could not see at all to dig his little grave in the cemetery. I really wanted to post a picture of him for people to really get the full affect of what I see but I won't, its horrible.
So I now have 4 tiny babies in my bathroom and 2 in a pack and play beside my bed.
The loss has been overwhelming lately and I am feeling it deeply. The calls are coming in more and more and we have nowhere for them to go but yet we keep working it out and making it happen because they have nowhere to go either.
We have $3,000 worth of heaters sitting here and cannot find an electrician to help us figure out after all the money we have spent on electrical upgrading 4 of them trip the breaker. Its freezing and i cannot even use the heaters.
Christmas used to be my favorite time of the year and now i absolutely dread it. Fosters go home and pups have to come back to kennels when we cannot get temp fosters. All our volunteers go home when my work hours at ups triple. Noone here to help do events to get these babies in homes for the holidays. This coming week i literally have ZERO help at the rescue and now 6 tiny babies in the house. Have Nala and her 8 babies coming back today to a cold kennel because we have no foster for her or the babies to go. Her foster was a temp and did way more time than what she even agreed to. We have 31 puppies under 3 months!!!!
There is still so much cleanup from the tornadoes but who has time for any of that. My house hasnt been touched except for being closed in. I have an $18,000 commercial embroidery machine in my craft room where the tree went through and havent even gotten to it to see if its ok. Our supply trailer is broken in half and still entirely full of stuff but again who has time for that!
We have fencing that has literally been donated and sitting in the yard because we have noone to put it up.
I could go on and on and on but I won't and this is NOT me complaining..this is me putting the cold hard truth out there and sharing what rescue life is like daily!
No matter how hard i am trying i am feeling defeated and in such a dark dreary place at the most wonderful time of the year! Pray for me for strength!

Hey there! My name is Bella and I am a 5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier. I love to sleep, get belly rubs, and go on car rides. Stuffed animals are my favorite toys or any type of food puzzle. I prefer to spend my days sleeping, basking in the sun, or lying on the couch with the family. I would do best in a home with a backyard and no small children or other small animals. I am up to date on all vaccines, I have no medical problems, and I am spayed. I know basic commands and am crate trained.

*THIS IS A COURTESY POST. This means this pet is not in our rescue. We are assisting with finding this pet a new home, in efforts to keep him/her out of the shelter! We do require an adoption application for courtesy posts, to help find the best match for the animal, in hopes that their new home will be FOREVER!*
