Possum has been Adopted!

Possum has a naughty twinkle and is a little adventurous. He has recently started picking up fetch.

Possum is happy and healthy outgoing pup. He is up to date on vaccines, and picking up potty and crate training nicely! He is on the small to medium size and when fully grown, probably in the 30lb range.

Oliver is a 5 year old diva with a lot of energy. He's sweet and loves attention. He enjoys a good conversation and he's always in the mood to play. He is on a grain-free diet because he has IBD. It's nothing too serious, but he does have a sensitive stomach and can't be fed grains. He uses the cat box normally and doesn't have any accidents. He doesn't scratch furniture but he does need a scratching post. Oliver enjoys a taste of the outside freedom every once in a while.

Oliver needs to be in a household with children or a family that can give him lots of affection and play time.

Teddy has been Adopted!
Happy Tails Teddy! 🐾🐾

Meet Teddy a 6-month old male Shar Pei, weighing just 14lbs, at this time.

Teddy has a calm temperament, but loves energetic play with his human friend and other dogs (especially tug-of-war).

Teddy loves to walk around neighborhoods and responds calmly to other approaching or nearby dogs/children.

Teddy also loves cuddling on the couch/in bed. He is great on car rides and tends to go right to sleep until destination arrival. Teddy maintains his calm disposition.

Teddy’s ideal new owner(s) would be an individual or family with time to spend playing with him and training Teddy, plenty of yard space to allow him to roam and explore (he loves to sniff everything!) or a suitable location to walk him around.

Mojo is a good dog looking for a new home. 🐾🐾 He is Male Boxer mix, only 40 lds. 2 year old, so he is full grown, fully vetted and neutered.

He loves nylabone chew toys. He is eager to please. He knows sit, go to bed. He likes to be physically close to his humans. He is very sweet Boy who would do best as the only dog in your home.

Bunny, or “Bun Bun”, is a medium-sized shepherd/terrier mix, at least five years old, and very sweet and loving! She is spayed, house-trained, and leash-trained. Bunny is friendly with other dogs and cats; unsure about kids as she hasn’t been around them much. She’s a true companion and likes to be around people, and loves toys, blankets, and belly rubs. Bunny’s needs a new and kind home.

NEWS! Best Friends Animal Society just released their 2021 nation-wide no-kill initiative results. For the fourth year in a row, Delaware has been recognized as a no-kill state. Delaware was the first state in the country to be identified as “no-kill” in 2019, with only New Hampshire reaching that coveted status since then. We’re proud to be the first open access shelter in the state’s history to reach 90%+ lifesaving, a level we’ve sustained since taking responsibility for the state’s lost/stray dogs, cruelty cases, and injured at-large cats and dogs six years ago. According to the state’s 2021 statistics, we intake 65% of the state’s shelter animals, so our success combines with that of other Delaware shelters to make Delaware a national model for lifesaving. A huge part of this recognition also goes to all of you in the community in Delaware. Kudos for advocating for and supporting progressive programs!
