🎆 4th of July Is Around the Corner! We will be closed Friday, July 4th in observance of independence day 🎆�Fireworks may be fun for us, but they can be terrifying for our furry friends. 🐶🐱
If your pet gets anxious during loud celebrations, now is the time request refills for any anxiety medications they may need. Give us a call before the celebrations begin to ensure our staff has ample time to fill medications for your fur baby.

Call BAC at 813-832-3675 to request refills or to discuss with one of our CSRs if you’re unsure what your pet needs.

There have been recent reports of positive leptospirosis cases in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. Lepto can cause serious illness, and we want to help keep your four-legged family members protected.

Is your dog protected against leptospirosis?

Leptospirosis is an infectious disease that causes serious and sometimes fatal illness in dogs, other animals, and people, too. The leptospirosis bacteria are spread through the urine of infected rats, squirrels, raccoons, opossums, and other wildlife (this is called “urinary shedding”), contaminating standing water, soil, or other surfaces your dog may come in contact with. Your dog can also contract leptospirosis from an infected dog through close contact with them or their urine.

Once infected, your dog may show symptoms such as fever, lethargy, weight loss, drinking/urinary changes, jaundice, gastrointestinal complications, and potentially trouble breathing. Some advanced infections can even lead to organ failure and death.

Leptospirosis is a core vaccine, meaning it is an essential part of your dog’s preventative care. Protecting your pet through vaccination is the best way to keep them healthy. If your dog hasn’t started the lepto vaccine series or needs their annual booster, give us a call today to schedule an appointment!
