Meet "Dobby"( a current client of ours). He’s a lab, hound AND shih tzu mix, only 7 months old and fully up to date on shots & NexGard. Still intact (not neutered). Fully potty trained but is still working on crate training. Dobby is a medium size boy, a very quick learner and is quite intelligent we are told. He's good with other animals & children, even babies. His current owner can provide a crate, bed, food, toys, etc. What's not to love about this boy???

From Passion To Profession.

My name is Stephani Rickerd . I am the Owner/Groomer and Operator of Buddy’s Place.

I decided to name my business after my childhood dog, “Buddy”. This was the dog that grew up with me and was also the face for my small town business I started at less than 14 years of age, providing dog walks, pet sitting and bathing. Once things were becoming successful in that I wanted to try grooming but didn’t know how or with who’s dog . So I saved my money and purchased a set of cheap dog grooming clippers and by the patience and kindness of my trusty neighbors, slowly I started to get the hang of it. As time went by I also picked up some opportunities to apprentice for professional dog groomers, followed by online dog grooming/business classes while continuing with the hands on. I took pet first aid classes and was also a Junior Handler for the Thurmont Ambulance Company’s, K-9 Search and Rescue team, using my very own dog, Buddy! Along my journey to where I am today, I picked up jobs, working for kennels, trainers, shelters, rescues and finally a real career with Main Street Groomers in Taneytown Maryland. I worked there for close to 5 wonderful years . To make a long story shorter, that brings me to where we are now, 52 East Baltimore Street, Taneytown MD, 21787 “Buddy’s Place” . My very own shop and life long dream come true!

Someone once told me, “ Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”. It’s safe to say that I love what I do. I understand that dogs can be hyper, shy, difficult, and down right naughty at times but after spending my entire life learning about not only dogs but their well being and unique personalities, I have yet to find one I am not crazy about. Which is why I am so excited to invite you to give Buddy’s Place a try. A place where you can relax, knowing your buddy is in good hands with someone who loves them like you do. Though this is now my profession, it has and always will be my passion. Thank you for taking the time to learn about my journey, as it doesn’t stop here. Someday I would like to extend this business and include boarding and day care services in the future.
