We are thrilled beyond words to welcome a beautiful and beloved litter of puppies into the world. All puppies are spoken for. Princess Poppy delivered 10 gorgeous puppies 4/11/23. This litter is sired by Pitlochry’s Catwaezle using frozen semen, frozen by Nico Fernhout. Pitlochry’s Catwaezle owned by Conny Fernhout-Schildt. Huge shout out and thanks to Riverside Pet Care for their excellent care and help with timing and TCI, and care during the pregnancy. Puppies and Princess are settled in at home and doing well. It’s important to consider if you are truly ready for a puppy. Puppies are fun and exciting, but at the same time, puppies are a lot of work and a huge commitment. Take the time to be absolutely sure you are ready to make that commitment.

Did you know Irish Wolfhound puppies should not go home at 8 weeks old? Do you know why? This article is a great read about the development of Irish Wolfhound puppies. Most puppies go home around 8-10 weeks old, but Irish Wolfhounds need a little longer to learn important things from their mothers and litter mates.
For more information about puppy development, and Irish Wolfhounds in general, check out the Irish Wolfhound Club of America. Consider becoming a member of this wonderful national breed club.

There are several reasons why it is recommended for Irish Wolfhound puppies to be placed in their new homes between 10-12 weeks of age. Many other breeds recommend 8 weeks as the correct age for placement, but Irish Wolfhounds develop differently.
