We ARE NOT a rescue and do not have the facilities to take in stray or unwanted cats. My name is Trina and I am The Cat Lady. I have a special love for and over 20 years experience with the beloved feline. I specialize in cat behavior/communication, but I do dabble in cat-sitting as well. I am a Veterinary Techinician by trade, but I often rely on my gift to communicate with my patients to help a
scary doctor's visit not so bad or give them a kind word at the end of their life. I would like to help people understand why their cats behave in certain ways and how to help their cats. I can act as a liaison between you and your vet so your cat gets the best treatment if needed. Please note that I cannot diagnose or prescribe medication, nor can I perform surgery or give medical advice over the phone. A good relationship with your veterinarian is excellent for these situations. I work for Mountain View Animal Hospital. If you are in need of a Veterinarian, I highly recommend the following:
At Mountain View:
Dr. Kanda Hazelwood
Dr. Valerie Price
Dr. Tim Kirkland (for orthopedic surgeries)
At Alta Veterinary Hospital
Dr. Kelly Huston (I highly recommend her)
Dancing Cats:
Dr. Nancy Larsen
For Exotic Animals:
Dr. Valerie Price (Non-poisonous reptiles, no birds)
Dr. Ross Anderson at Southeast Valley Veterinary Hospital
What to expect on your first visit:
For behavior issues, I will schedule a two hour appointment ($75) which is getting to know you and your cat(s). During that time, I will give affection, play and talk to your cat(s) and you as well. I suggest follow up visits and also possible solutions at that time. Follow up visits are $35 for one hour sessions. If you are interested in cat sitting, I will schedule a "Getting to know you" appointment. I will bring along a questionnaire (or email it to you) that will address certain issues such as medication. I will also ask about general things such as favorite toys, feeding times, veterinarian and emergency contacts . My pricing is as follows: $15 a day (7th day free!) for twice daily check-ins. Feeding, litterbox care and playtime is included. In-house (I stay in your house) is $35 per day (7th day is free!). Medications, blood glucose testing, etc is all inclusive. I also offer consultations for adoptions, where I will accompany you to a shelter or rescue after I get to know you and your needs to match you with your purr-fect new friend. I can also accompany you to the veterinarian if certain health issues arise. I am also an ordained minister and offer funeral services and support during and after euthanasia upon request. Nail trims: $10 per cat. Soft Claws application: $12 per cat.
