In honor of Rose's memory I filed articles of incorporation for Little Rose Farm. This will be a n exotic pet rescue, where our mission is to give every pet their best life while they are with us and once they are adopted. In the coming months and weeks we will be developing and solidifying our organization and working on building relationships and our knowledge base. We have filed our 501c3 paperwork and will be able to accept charitable donations in the near future.
We will need financial assistance, food donations, donated reptile terrariums and enclosures for our feathered and furred friends. Volunteers are welcome!

Once moved to our location, we will need volunteers to help us make secure enclosures for all the animals.

I intend to offer tour packages to show what we do and our various animals in the future to help keep the rescue in the black.

All ideas, support, love and follows will be appreciated. I will share the rescue page here once it's established. 💜

I'm sorry to tell you all that Rose never recovered from anesthesia and she crossed the Rainbow Bridge during the night. I took the day to grieve before I could write this. I have Rose's previous family grieving with me, and wanted to respect them as well. I appreciate all the love and kindness you've shown her over the last few months. She got to live in luxury and be adored and pampered for her last few months. I am really heartbroken. She was really my emotional support animal, and I was her emotional support human who gave her new experiences and love as her time approached and I didn't even know it. I expected at least 6 more years with Rose, and I'm grieving all the time I won't get while also being so grateful for the time I had. She showed me how to love and be loved by reptiles. In her honor I'm going to keep loving them. Keep giving them the best and safest life possible. I'm going to help reptiles that need rescue, when resources allow. I'm going to honor her memory for the rest of my life, every time I help another reptile, love one, buy one, adopt one, save one, learn about them, learn the importance of everything they need, etc...

Rose was a Citrus Burst x Tiger Bearded Dragon. She was yellow and happy anytime she was with me. In her tank she'd turn other colors like green, dark blue, black... she was a mood lizard, and for her Yellow was the color of love. Pale blue on her back and beard meant happiness and relaxation. She loved to ride my head or shoulder, lay on my chest or belly, and take naps with me in her sleeping bag with a heat pad. And my finger under her little "hand". She loved eating bugs. A lot. Unfortunately this poor training with vegetables as a young dragon is what led to her illness. But she was never not in the mood for a worm or a Dubia.
She loved to play in the sunshine in my front yard. She would climb rocks and lick dew off grass and open her mouth to the sun and bask. It looked like a smile. It was so beautiful to watch her experience things that engaged her. She went to Tybee Island and made lots of new friends and got to experience the beach. She didn't like the wind, but she found ways to enjoy it from the tent. That was Rose. She just made the best of whatever came at her. She lived over 6 years and went through a lot of things, had a lot of experiences, she loved and she bonded and she made the best of everything. She made things better just by being there. Rosie, I will always miss you. Your bite marks scarred my fingers so I'll never forget you, but you left your little alien foot prints on my heart too. ❤️

Rose needs your prayers, healing rituals, and good energy.
Yesterday I took Rose down to Auburn University Veterinary Clinc to have her teeth examined because she was eating less and acting painful when she chewed and I had noticed tarter. The exotic specialist in this clinic is Dr. Oster. He and two students decided my Rose was only constipated, administered an e***a and sent her home on metronidazole. The moment they gave her back to me I knew something was wrong. All last night her stomach became distended and she wouldn't move much. She vomited baby food. This morning I went straight to her when I got up. I found her in what was essentially a stress coma. I called auburn and they said I could bring her back or just monitor her. I felt it was an emergency. I rushed her to Decatur to All Pets and within an hour Rose was in surgery. In the end, the Dr. Had to remove her left kidney. It was 4 times it's normal size. Upon dissection the doctor noticed urate crystals, which is what she was impacted with the day before. This all spells out Gout. I became Roses mom in late April of this year. This damage was in the making for her entire life. She was not fed enough vegetation as a young dragon. Too much protein causes the urate to crystallize in the kidneys and the cloaca. And it causes chronic dehydration which causes kidney failure. The kidney has been sent to pathology to determine if the kidney was cancerous, her bloodwork suggests that it may have been. My fierce Rose survived her kidney removal. The vet took her home with her so she can give medicines and the ambu bag to help her breathe because the anesthesia is taking a long time to wear off. Rose needs love and so do I. We will have a better idea of her prognosis as she recovers. I will keep you all updated.

Kokopelli is our newest family member he's a 2 year old Russo Clown Het Ball Python. He lived his whole life in a pet store. He's shy, but very curious. We have been working with him to get him used to handling. He's been with us about a month now and he's warming up to us more and more as time goes on. We are excited to have him here and plan to breed him with both VooDoo and Dolly once they are old enough and heavy enough to be ready to breed. We should get some very neat looking babies between the three of them one day!

Voodoo and Dolly are gaining weight, growing so fast, and being their sweet inquisitive selves as usual. Voodoo is about to shed for the third time since she's been in my care. I always feel equally bad for them bc it's uncomfortable, and reassured because shedding means growth and healthy noodle!

Little Lavender is starting to trust. She's gone from a wild feral little monster to enjoying being held and exploration. I gained her trust by giving treats, helping her drink using a dropper, and slowly getting her used to my hands being in her enclosure. I try to ensure that each interaction I have with her is left on a positive note. She still isn't quite tame, but she's come so far and I know we will be great friends once she learns to trust a bit more! 💜

Rosie is going into her first shed since she's been with me. She's itchy and grumpy. She's getting extra baths, extra worms, extra love and lots of cuddles.

We are home from Tybee Island and Rose had so much fun! Lavender and my eldest sons baby dragon Ember joined in on some of the fun! Rose was a great beardie Ambassador while on the island. She went almost everywhere with us and people loved her sweet chill personality. She got lots of gentle head rubs and lots of pictures taken. It is so amazing to be able to have her with me and watch her enjoy new mental stimulus, and be a perfect example of a happy beardie. She's precious to me.

Rose is so ready for the beach this morning. Our late brunch is really getting on her nerves. Except the part when I gave her a piece of berry from my plate. She's having a blast!

I haven't had much time to post the past two weeks due to work going on in our house. But Rosey and I still have our special time on the porch each day. She just finished eating her Kale, a raspberry, and 4 meal worms and now she's exploring the outdoor furniture as she does. She's a spoiled rotten girl who makes me so happy. I look forward to waking up every day and seeing her!

Rose and I are soaking up some good vitamin D right from the source. I love how she turns darker in the sunshine so she can absorb more heat. So cool!

One of the reasons Rose is so wonderful for me is that holding her makes me feel calm and grounded. She's hilarious too. Tonight I was crying and having a panic attack and my husband John brought her to me in bed. I started to calm down. John got the mail for me and here is the outfit I ordered her on etsy. 🤣 Now I'm laughing.

Super worms for the Lady Rose. These seem to be her favorite live protein. They are really good nutrients for her. It's good to feed them while they are waiting to be food, this way your reptile gets healthy food that is more nutrient dense.

This is the custom tile floor I created to fit one inch above the China cabinet floor. This will allow me to heat the tiles from underneath and keep her enclosure clean. I used carrerrra tile pieces, and broke apart some mosaic back splash to add some variety. I used black premixed grout and a clear no VOC sealant.
