Our Miracle Mutts therapy dogs have partnered again with the amazing group at CASA for their annual Super Hero Run. All children need a Super Hero and CASA is just that! They are a local nonprofit who advocates against child abuse and provides a voice to those who are neglected and abused. Our crew spread a little happiness and love and we couldn’t think of a more deserving cause ❤️

First off. Thanks to everybody who participated in @givebigkern , one of the biggest charitable days of the year!
On Tuesday, we were able to pull 10 dogs from the city and county shelters, including their two longest stay dogs. We also got a few motherless puppies. Two of the dogs will need surgical intervention, including this Golden Boy. He’s about 10 weeks old, had a severe eye ulceration, and needs to have enucleation surgery (removed). It’s about 2k for that surgery, so that’s what I’ve set the amount for.
We are looking for a foster, or even foster to adopt, who is within 100 miles and can make it to the ranch for vaccines, etc.

Dudley-do-Right sure has turned his life around! For a dog who has been let down by people in the biggest way, he sure hasn’t hesitated warming up to us. Team work makes the dream work and the team responsible for DDR’s recovery has been amazing. THANK YOU LUCY! He’s headed up to @ucdavisvetmed for some final evaluations of his broken jaw, but it healed and functional regardless. I had the pleasure of spending some time with this boy and feel lucky to have some so—he’s special and hilarious!With any luck, Dudley is going to be adopted by his foster mama!
Maximus is doing wonderfully since we rescued him. He’s an absolute love. His favorite thing is to bury his head on the lap of his human. He’s a very unique and interesting boy. This week we were able to reunite him with Snowie. Who is most likely his mother. We continue to work on walks, new environments, etc. I’m very proud of him and thank all of you for helping us rescue him!
One of the proudest experiences of life has been teaching class with @mr.swyft and @d_galaviz79 at Camp Kilpatrick. Didontae and David were both students of @pawsitivechangeprogram and are now teaching the class as free men, and promising dog trainers! We’ve got our second graduation coming up, which we are excited about! We had three dogs living with the kids this round, and they’ve all performed tremendously!

This gorgeous boy has finally found his family. There were lots of tears and all the smiles as Clyde headed out. Saying goodbye to a dog we’ve known so long is never easy but each of these dogs deserves their very own home and when it happens there aren’t many feelings that hit quite so wonderfully ❤️

We learn so much when dogs spend time in a foster home. We learn things we’d never know in a ranch environment. Bruce and Dory recently had a weekend away from our ranch and hung out in foster care. Oh my goodness guys these two were fantastic! Their house manners were on point, they had no accidents, they slept perfectly in their crates all night and they were so calm and respectful. They showed us what amazing family dogs they are and we hope this assessment will finally get them adopted. They really really want to be adopted 😊And that’s why we love foster homes so much. Fostering allows us to see how a dog will behave in a home environment. We need that info because eventually each dog will be adopted and live in a home. Fosters help us know what training a dog needs to succeed in a home. Fosters are litterally the lifeline to adoption for most of these pups. Sweet little Baylee at 15 years old found herself unwanted and homeless. Animal control picked her up wandering the streets and she had both a tag and a microchip. This should have been amazing news but when they called the numbers the individual hung up on them when they stated the reason for the call. Because of the microchip animal control had the owners address so they headed over to take her home. No one came to the door. So Baylee sat at the shelter alone and terrified.
A letter was sent to the family but with Baylee’s matted condition and the negative response with attempted phone and in person contact our guess is her family no longer wanted her. So sad as she’s a really nice girl in the golden years of her life. A time when she should be cherished the most. Baylee is now safe at our rescue enjoying foster care instead of a loud scary shelter. We’ll never understand why senior pets are abandoned but we are thankful every day for the fosters and adopters who give them a chance. Baylee is getting a much needed groom and then this sweet girl will be ready to find a family who will love her frosted face and all.
