When I started Hitt Kennels I pledged to provide some of the best hounds to the public.

I have produced some nice hounds so far out of the stock of hounds my dad has bred over the years.

Now moving forward i plan to cross on some different lines from different parts of the US.

I have been lucky enough to have made some connections with certain folks and talk to houndsman of the past that made what we have now.

Yesterday I talked to a 86 year old houndsman.
Jim Powers the creator of Tidewater hounds. We talked hounds for over and hour. I told him my goal and what iam trying to accomplish. He told me he would work with me and help where he could.

I learned where his hounds had started to where they are now. And i believe his line will ad to mine on a very nice outcross in the future.

I plan on doing some outcrosses on some different hounds in the next year.

I really enjoy talking to guys that know hounds and what they are supposed to be like.

Hitt Kennels chicken dog slope for cold weather

Gives them everything they need. Nutrients and water.

Chicken thigh meat
Chicken broth
Cup of biscuit mix
Salt
Cook on stove till thick

Mix with hot water and dog food.

Divide between hounds.
Mine are snoring now lol

I have had some good houndsman to guide me over the years. I owe them for my success i have had. Their knowledge and time they took taught me alot. Some are still with us but many have past unfortunately. But thier memories will always stay with me.

Me and dad took Boomer and Gus out tonight. Made a den and treed 1 big boar.Had a good hunt. Sound on video not the best have to hold up to your ear to hear the race good.

Its a family tradition

A Legacy!!!!!

I started when i was 6
Owned my first hound at 7. Fossil Creek Mad Max. I followed my papa and dad with many years learning the sport and how to bred hounds.

Started Shea showing hounds at 7. She owns her own hound Hitt's Stylish JoJo which has produced some really nice young hounds.

Hayes will end the 4th generation of the legacy. In the next few months he will own his own hound at 1 year old. Yadkin Tar Hardwood Bozz. His hound will have hounds in the 3rd and 4th generation that are owned or have been owned by Hitt Kennels.
Alot of years of work.

Hopefully the generations will continue threw my kids and grandkids. And the line of hounds we own will to.

Its funny i wear my Hitt Kennels hoodies everywhere. We took Hayes to the doc in Frisco yesterday. I was in line at HEB to check out and a older gentleman asked me if i hunted and what my logo was. I explained to him that i was a c**nhunter. He said not sure what you mean. I told him like the movie where the red fern grows but alot more modern then those times. He asked me how long i have hunted. I told him since 6 years old. I told him I was a 3rd generation c**nhunter.
He said wow thats alot of years. It amazed me how many folks dont know about the sport I have loved my hole life.

Now this man was probably in his late 60s.
Which i thought was crazy that he did know about the sport. Its crazy that there is so much difference within and hour of each other. Different lifestyles and culture.

The Perkins boys went 3 for 3 last night

Yadkin Tar Deacon. Deacon is a spitting image of his daddy gus. Hunts like him to.

Yadkin Tar Roxy. They say Roxy is making a hound. Treeing out ahead of the others. She is a Gus X Jojo cross.

If your looking for something that produces nice dogs gus is your hound to bred to.

Your gyp comes in bring her and a bag of feed to us will make sure she is bred. Will house for a week while in heat.

Well me and ol gus gave all we had. We hunted with some nice hounds.

Are world hunt run is over. We will be Oklahoma bound in the morning.

Iam cut up and sore. Waided a swamp and I mean a swamp. Never been in something like that.

Congratulations to the winners of my cast. Good guys had fun.

Gus is fully retired now. After last night its time. Puppy's and training.

It's been fun but iam ready to see the red river and my wife and kiddos.

Gus has 40 hounds in the world. Some I put out and some before I owned him. Almost everyone I have talked to gives me good reports.

With that being said I would like to hit 60 pups. Old man is reproducing nice young dogs. Get in touch with me if you want some gus pups. Ol man will be 12 in November better use him while he is here.
