Meet Big Boy, the adorable feline who recently visited UrgentVet for an ongoing upper respiratory infection. This sweet kitty has been battling the infection for some time and his dedicated owner has been on top of things to ensure his health and comfort.

After a thorough examination, our team decided to administer a different type of antibiotic to help Big Boy fight off the infection. We also recommended follow-up bloodwork and X-rays to monitor his progress and ensure that he was on the right track to recovery. Additionally, we suggested nebulized treatments to help alleviate his symptoms and provide him with some relief.

We wish Big Boy a speedy recovery!

Damien came into our clinic after his owners noticed him dragging one of his hind legs. Our doctor suspects back trauma and recommends following up with their primary veterinarian for diagnostics. We started him on pain medications and an anti-inflammatory medication to help manage his discomfort in the meantime. Damien is a sweet and gentle boy, we hope he feels better soon!

Ares the Great Dane and Prometheus the Belgian Malinois both came in with ear infections. After running an ear cytology, we sent them home with the right medications to get those ears feeling better in no time! 💙

Did you know grapes can be toxic for dogs? Stella, a sweet Pomeranian, found this out the hard way. Thankfully, her pet parents acted fast and brought her to UrgentVet. We induced vomiting to safely get the grape out and kept her comfortable afterward. 💙

We are happy to report that Sugar is recovering well after having her tail amputated with us nearly two weeks ago! She has been receiving bandage changes and rechecks, and just had her sutures removed. We are hopeful that she will continue to heal smoothly. Sugar is such a well behaved cat and has been a pleasure to care for. 🐱💕

With the heat still in full swing, remember that our furry friends feel it too! Walking your dog in hot weather can lead to heatstroke and other injuries. Here's why: Concrete and asphalt retain heat, making it much hotter for your pet, and these surfaces can burn their paw pads. When it’s above 80-85 degrees, it’s best to walk your dog in the early morning or at dusk. If that’s not possible, keep walks short and stay on the grass. Always provide plenty of water and watch for signs of heatstroke, such as excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, and confusion. If you notice any of these, bring your pet to us right away.

It’s all fun and games until someone ends up in a cone… 🤭

Phantom came in with a hot spot and got the full wound care treatment: clipping the area, doing a full cleaning with an antiseptic cleaner, then was sent home with gentamicin spray, credelio, and apoquel. He was so sweet for his visit and super food-motivated!! Wishing him a speedy recovery with all the treats and love from his pawrents. 🐾❤️

Sugar visited UrgentVet for a tail injury that was determined to have nerve damage, resulting in a tail amputation. Our veterinary care team sedated Sugar, performed the surgery, administered antibiotics and pain medications, applied a bandage, and sent Sugar home with wishes for a speedy recovery.

Last week at UrgentVet, we saw Earl for a hot spot. We treated the area by shaving and cleaning it, and applied a topical antibiotic spray to address the infection and reduce inflammation. We hope this treatment brings him the relief that he needs!

Sweet Levi was treated for an upset stomach this week! We performed a f***l, sent home medications, and recommended a bland diet. Despite feeling under the weather, it didn't affect his playful puppy attitude. Hoping to see him feeling better soon! 🐾

This sweet Texas princess came to see us after getting an insect bite or sting in the yard. Miss Ginger was painful and not acting like herself and we were able to get some pain medications on board and start some Benadryl to get her on the road to recovery.

Meet Looka, the sweetest and most handsome Cornish Rex cat!! 😻 During his visit, our care team fell in love with him and he had them wrapped around his whittle paws.

He came to see us after he started having some urinary issues at home, and we were able to treat him for a suspect urinary tract infection with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory pain medication. We wish you a speedy recovery sweetheart!! ❤️
