As Bailing Out Benji's Texas team, we are committed to researching the puppy mill industry and it's connection to TX pet stores. According to records we obtained from various Departments of Agriculture in the Midwest, below are a few of the regular suppliers to Crosby Pets in 2019 and 2020.
* Tiffanie Kurz, Tiffanie’s LLC. (Frankford, Missouri) – This massive puppy broker had 41 puppies on their property at the time of last inspection. Kurz was named one of the worst puppy mills in the country in 2019 due to various horrible state violations. In 2018, State inspection found 35 puppies died during a six month period that year and puppies with parvo died without being taken to a veterinarian. According to Kurz, "Parvovirus suspects are not usually examined by a veterinarian because most will die within 24 hours.” This disturbing information did not stop Crosby Pets from buying from Kurz in 2019 and 2020.
* Jolyn Noethe, JAKS Puppies, Britt Iowa – A very large puppy broker that had 254 puppies on their property at the time of last inspection. JAKS not only sells puppies to pet stores all over the country, they started two sham “rescues” in order to lie to the public about not being a puppy mill. JAKS was investigated and sued by the Iowa Attorney General for charity fraud and was ordered to stop their sham rescue in 2020. Because of this, they were named one of the worst puppy mills in the country.
* Scott Wheatcraft and Gaynetta Snyder, Precious Paws. (Browning, Missouri)- At the time of last inspection, this facility had 125 adult breeding dogs and 78 puppies.
* Brian Lichirie, Michele Kruse and Gealea Nichols. T&M Enterprises (West Point, Iowa)- This very large puppy broker had 84 adult breeding dogs on their property at the time of last inspection and 434 puppies! Those puppies are warehoused until they are transported to pet stores across the country.
Crosby Pets regularly sources puppies through third party brokers like Kurz, Lichirie/Nichols and JAKS (above) as well as Conrad’s Cuddly Canine’s (Frankford, Missouri) and Becky Busboom (Dannebrog, Nebraska).

This is why it is VERY important that we get HB1818 passed out of the House, Senate and signed into law. Pet stores should not be partnering with puppy mills in Texas or any other state.
