We are excited to introduce a Pet Food Pantry for all Sandusky County residents, made possible by the Sandusky County Communities Foundation grant reward of $5,616. With this grant our hope is to help pet owners and caregivers of Sandusky County who are experiencing temporary financial difficulty by providing food and supplies for their pets. Having access to dry, dog & cat food will ease the financial burden of caring for pets. No family or individual should feel the need to surrender their pet because of temporary financial hardship. By providing food/supplies to families in need this enables them to keep their pets in the home and eliminate the financial burden of providing food. By offering assistance for food we are helping families keep their pets in their home instead of having to surrender them to a shelter which will help to eliminate shelter overcrowding. For those seeking assistance, no appointment needed, walk-in during business hours, Monday-Friday, 1pm-5pm & Sat 1pm-4pm.

This post may be a bit long, but our boy Bobby is short, sweet, and simply irresistible!😍

Meet Bobby, a 6-year-old heartthrob who came to THS from our amazing friends at LC4! Bobby’s playful spirit and loving nature make him the perfect companion. His favorite pastimes? Chasing tennis balls and enjoying all the snackies!😋

Bobby is described as affectionate, playful, and oh-so-sweet. While we don’t have any history on how he interacts with children, we believe he’s a gentle soul! We recommend bringing the kiddos along to meet him so everyone feels comfortable.

As for other dogs, we don’t know much about his past experiences, but Bobby has met another pup here at the shelter and co-existed just fine. To ensure the best fit, a dog-to-dog introduction with any potential fur siblings is recommended.
