A message to current and future clients of Angel’s Pet Hospital,

Our veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, kennel technicians, and groomers want to make a positive difference in your pets’ life. We are involved in your pets’ healthcare at the beginning, end, and every beautiful moment in between. We get to experience kindness, selflessness, and love, but at times we witness unimaginable neglect and cruelty. As much as our staff wants to help it is getting harder and harder to do so. The veterinary field is losing staff at an alarming rate. Veterinary hospitals across the United States are closing because of staffing shortages. Veterinarians are in the top four professions with the highest su***de rates. It is hard to process the emotional rollercoaster involved with delivering a poor prognosis, or saying goodbye to a pet we have loved and cared for it’s whole life, and then to immediately put a smile on our face for the next patient. We end our days emotionally exhausted, grieving our patients, and praying for their owners. We are able to bring comfort and give positive experiences to our patients, which makes the tough days and losses easier to handle.

With the pet population growing, appointments are becoming harder to get. It is not because our staff does not care. It is because we care so much that we want your pet to get undivided attention. Our staff can only safely treat so many patients a day. When we say we cannot see your pet, or recommend a referral it is because all our work-in slots are full. We do not want to compromise your pet’s care or the care of another pet. Our veterinarians are doing everything they can to help as many pets as they can, but sometimes a referral to another local hospital or speciality facility is needed.

If your veterinarian is running late, please be patient. Understand our staff may be dealing with an unexpected situation or emergency. We will try to alert you of unexpected matters and do our best to accommodate everyone’s needs. As a general practitioner’s office, we are blessed to do the majority of diagnostics in house. The convenience of same day results means you may be waiting longer.

To help with financial stress, we recommend looking into pet insurance. When pets are sick or injured, diagnostics are often needed to make a diagnosis and create a treament plan. Our doctors will go over their exam findings, and discuss if diagnostics are needed. We can provide an estimate for you to approve before we perform any diagnostics.

Kindness goes a long way. When interacting with our staff be polite and respectful. Communicate with us if you have a question or concern, so we can do everything in our power to help. Many veterinary clinics are being defamed on social media. Things are being said solely to cause harm. When people post reviews, videos, and pictures you are hearing one side of the story. These stories tend to be incomplete, misleading, or even untrue. In an effort to create a safer and supportive work environment, we are implementing a zero-tolerance policy and will use the judicial system to deal with issues, including slander. Clients who are rude and verbally abusive will be asked to seek care at other facilities.

Our goal in sharing this is to raise awareness to what is happening in the field of veterinary medicine, and collaborate with our clients to provide a safe environment for staff and pets.

Not One More Vet (NOMV) will transform the status of mental wellness within the profession so veterinary professionals can survive & thrive.

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Joey. He was so deeply loved by the entire staff. We will miss him begging for treats and attention. He gave the best cuddles, and was so gentle with everyone. He was the perfect big brother to all of our other clinic cats. It breaks our hearts that he will no longer be in his bed on the counter waiting to greet all of you.
