Sol Spitz Community Mustang Project

Sol Spitz Community Mustang Project The horses main dilemma in domestication is clarity, the message sent by the person is often a long way from what the horse understands, & perceives.

We teach insights & spatial awareness ,a mutual connection, as more important than styles & cliches

Some insights - when you watch horses eating gives a clue of how a herd operates. You may notice that the horses are all looking , either with their eyes, or listening with their ears, each others blind area,,, this way they can relax and eat. When people take them out, you may also want to show the horse you are aware of your surroundings. Sharpen up your skills and senses so you are aware of more than just where you are going or doing what you want,,,we want the horse to give us the keys to their wheels, yet how many of us trust someone with the keys to our vehicle...to people, what is obedience or entertainment or an emotional neediness,,, is to the horse, their life. Act accordingly,,,

Styles of riding often have their rules of how a horse should move, or what bit to use to accomplish a headset and to have control.,,,watch how a horse moves on their own and you can see for your self an economy of motion and balance...if you need a bit for control, then really what you are saying is that you skipped the communication between you and the horse, and need a bit for control, which makes the horse a captive , not a willing participant. Watch how the horse moves, and visualize you are on them, where two legs become four. What we teach here is insights and spatial awareness, and guidelines, which a person has to adjust to the horse, where the intuition comes into the co-ordination and confidence between the horse and person.

Horses way of being, and working with it ,,,here I am making use of opportunities, and while the mare & filly,,,Dawn & Pi,,, eat or are moving I am watching how they move on their own, the emotion of the motion, and as I move with and around them, I am watching when they turn their nose to me, and then when they move the rear foot, that is furthest back. By having them tip their nose to me in a relaxed manner, and if it happens enuff, then they will be easier to move in balance at a closer distance in a fluid way of going. What I tend to do with horses is to ask for maybe a few seconds as a point of reference, as a point of understandings. From there its easier to build on a few more seconds, and then a series of moments, with a relaxed manner and understanding, which is what ' teaching' is, rather than 'training'...too many horses see too many trainers, and not enuff teachers.Training is physical conditioning,,,teaching works with the mind and skills which lead to athleticism.

Also I will be video-ing their education process, which is a 21st century approach of mutual respect and dignity,,, what we do here is a 21st century approach beyond styles & cliches,,,and emphasizes insights and spatial awareness,

for those who relate with horses , and are curious beyond styles & cliches,,,a 21st century contemplative secular approach, that teaches insights and spatial awareness,,,as well as dignity and mutual respect,,,for inter-species connections , thru the horse ,
