My sister in England is trying to save this foal's life, can we help her? Poor little thing is blind due to cataracts but the surgery is around $10,000!! Surely this little life is worth that? IT’S TIME TO GET COWBOY ADOPTED! Please share this Foxy and the Hounds post in hopes of finding him the very best forever home! Cowboy is a ridiculously adorable 6 year old Staffordshire Terrier mix and weighs about 50 lbs. He has been with us way too long because his fosters have had a hard time wanting to let Cowboy go. But, now it’s time for his happily ever after! He is pure love, very sensitive, mellow, loving, relaxed, easy going and loyal. He is the sweetest boy ever with a smile that lights up a room!

Cowboy is a homebody and a big couch potato. He gets along great with other dogs that are mellow like him, but does not do well with hyper dogs. Cowboy is such a good boy, loves to cuddle and belly rubs are his absolute favorite. He is truly the best and easiest dog ever and whoever adopts him is going to be so lucky! He is definitely a rescue and fan favorite and is long overdue for the perfect forever home. Let’s find Sandy the perfect forever home! From Foxy and the Hounds: Guess who’s back? Ugh! This is a post I never wanted to write, but yep... Sandy was returned to us! This stunning 6 month old Bull Terrier mix puppy was born in the shelter and we rescued Mama Annie and her puppies just hours after they were born. I ended up having to bottle feed the puppies at 2 weeks old and I loved this litter with my whole heart and they were all adopted a couple months later. Mama went to Laura Rice of Pet Peeves Training, LLC to learn boundries and limitations and now Annie is absolute perfection.

We sent Sandy to Laura just 4 days ago and literally in the first 24 hours, Laura sent video of Sandy doing focus work, was already waiting for permission at crate door and sliding door, and she knows all her basic commands. She said Sandy was probably bored and stressed and just needed direction. And, this is what an awesome trainer and person Laura is... she sent me this text today: Terri, this dog is normal. She doesn’t need to be here with me. She needs owners who understand what it means to give a dog boundaries.

So, now it’s time for Sandy’s happily ever after, but it must be the right home as we will not fail Sandy again. This is not an easy breed, but Bull Terriers are amazing, smart, loving and fun. They need a mix of 1) lots of help learning how to handle stress and 2) mental energy drained through training and activities requiring self control. If you don’t know what appropriate corrections would be, then you are not the right home for Sandy. She will thrive in a home with someone that is comfortable giving boundaries. Also, a home with at least one other dog (male) is preferred. Sandy weighs just 40 lbs now, but will likely grow to be about 60 lbs full grown. If you are ready and willing for the challenges that come with such a spirited dog, then you will be blessed with one of the smartest, happiest, and most loyal best friends ever. Help please! We are at the vet with the runt and he is trying to leave us. Please help! He deserves to know love. ❤️

*UPDATE! On our way to Dr. Pitt who is beyond awesome and said bring him in if you are worried... so that is what we are doing right now. On our way to Mid Valley Veterinary Hospital!

MEET CHAI, COFFEE, LATTE & VIENNA! Seriously., this is how today’s rescue happened... Sarah Sutton of Last Bad Day rescue who I fostered for 3 years before becoming Foxy and the Hounds tagged me in a post. Now let me tell you, Sarah probably tags me only once every few months. So, I said sure Sarah if you go get them from the Bakersfield Shelter today, I will take them. Totally not expecting this response, she called and said, I’m on my way to get them and will see you in 4 hours. And that my friends is how rescue works... if you talk the talk, you better be able to walk the walk.

These 4 munchkins are completely emaciated, have Giardia and the little runt Latte is the only one that is a bit worrisome. If we end up in Emergency tonight, don’t be surprised... we do what we gotta do!

These pups are just 6 weeks old and have obviously had a horrid life prior to now. We will do everything and anything to make sure they thrive and have the best life ever. We will be taking them to our Vet first thing in the morning and if little Latte needs more vet care, we will make sure he gets it.

UPDATE IN THE COMMENTS!

SOS!!! Foxy and the Hounds needs help now! They just need one vial of Newcastle vaccine to help save Guinness’ life! There is a vaccine for a bird disease called Newcastle disease. And while Guinness is dog... this vaccine can save him! Dr. Pitt of Mid Valley Veterinary Hospital, and a hero right now... will take the Newcastle vaccine and inject into a healthy dog and then harvest antibodies from that dog. Then using a protocol, they will give the serum to Guinness for a period of four days. All he needs is one vial of Newcastle vaccine. Please help us save Guinness! Who has this vaccine? Anyone knowing of someone that has chickens or birds that get this vaccine... Please share to help us save Guinness!

"Sweet Frida is being badly bullied by our other larger dog and needs a new home ASAP. Frida is a sweet and gentle Staffie mix that gets along with people and other dogs. We adopted her from a high kill shelter a year ago and she has had formal training and is well behaved, house broken, spayed, healthy and current on shots. She is about 6-7 years old, happy, healthy, and a wonderful couch potato, cuddle bug and enjoys keeping the our ground squirrels on their toes.
