Thankful for the nice weather this weekend so we could get some field maintenence done!

Today we rented an auger and dug out the wood-post holes for the FastCAT track fencing. Huge thank you to our friends Khelsea and Jacob for coming to help with that!

We also were able to map out, measure, and permanently mark the Schutzhund field so we know exactly where the blinds will always go. We have TWO trials being hosted at our field this spring and we are so excited to be able to offer our field to these local clubs to benefit from. ❤️

We had such a wonderful time hosting Oddpaw Studio at our facility for their pop-up holiday portrait studio session! We will be collaborating for more of these throughout 2025 - stay tuned for future pop-up studio announcements!

❄️SHOW US YOUR SNOW PICS!❄️

The first snowfall of the season is always its own holiday here. All of our dogs LOVE snow and getting to watch them go outside after the first snowfall and seeing their eyes go like 🤩 is like watching a kid see the pile of presents on Christmas morning!

It's even more special when one of those dogs is seeing it for the very first time ever! Dogs have no concept of time or future. I can't say "Hey Karley, the weatherman says it's going to snow tomorrow!" and then show her a picture of what it'll look like. They truly go into their first snowfall completly blind with no concept of what it is.

And it's a glorious thing to get to witness. 🩵

Needless to say, we have yet another snow fan in our household.

It's rare that we are able to offer anything for because of the limited services we offer, but now that we have our FastCAT track firmly under construction we think now would be as good a time as any to FURTHER discount our Fun Run Punch Cards!

The regular day-of price for a FastCAT session (3 runs per dog) is $15. If you were to buy ten of them at the day-of price, you'd be looking at spending $150 over time.

For those of you that guessed that the new fenced area we teased earlier this week was for FastCAT, you were right!

This brand new, permanent FastCAT course located at Top City Dogs near Topeka, KS will be open to the public this SPRING 2025! 🥳

We've already had multiple kennel clubs contact us for field rental to host official trials and we will announce those dates as soon as we're allowed to, but we will also be hosting FUN RUNS twice a week beginning in April!

Top City Dogs has some VERY EXCITING additions planned for 2025!

This past weekend we finished pounding T posts for a veeeeeeery long and permanently enclosed dog space. Next up we will be getting the wood posts in the ground and then stretching the fencing. This project will be completed and ready to open to the public this spring!

Any guesses or ideas on what this very special space will be used for?

Boy this windstorm is a LOUD one! 😵‍💫

How are everyone's dogs doing? Even without thunder, these Kansas windstorms can still cause a lot of stress and anxiety for our furry friends. 🫣

Thankfully our climate controlled boarding room is nice and quiet! We always have white noise going to help drown out any scary outside sounds, which is also why the week of Independence Day happens to be one of our busiest boarding weeks of the year! AND since us humans live here full time too, if one of the pups shows signs of stress we'll be alerted to the movement with our security camera and our bedroom is only about 20 steps away! We can zip right over there to offer yummy treats and cuddles if they need some extra TLC at any time of the night. 🥰

We work hard to keep the peace and tranquility here at Top City Dogs, and the pups that are snoozing contently in this camera screen capture clearly agree! 💤

5 month old Karlach is our youngest resident dog and she's been putting in the work for some fancy feet, competition-style heeling! Karley is such a happy and energetic dog and I'm so lucky to get to be her partner!

OUR HOLIDAY RESERVATIONS ARE FILLING UP FAST!

Top City Dogs is a small, boutique, specialty dog boarding facility owned and managed by the decorated professional dog trainer, Kali Mitchin. Our sprawling 15-acre property is located on the NE side of Topeka, KS and is catered to nature-based fun and adventure for our canine guests. The owners live on-property so your dogs are not left unattended overnight.

While staying with us your dog will get to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside instead of a loud, boisterous kennel. They will get to enjoy long walks, plenty of play time, and lots of cuddles and treats while you're away visiting your family for the holidays. Many of our trusted clients choose us over other options for dogs that become stressed and uncomfortable in more traditional, large boarding set ups because of the specialized set up we have here.

BUT with all of that being said - in order to stay small, quiet, and peaceful our limited available slots fill up fast! DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO RESERVE YOUR SPOT!

Another great day of training for Stormchaser Schutzhund Club at Top City Dogs! Our dog/handler teams worked on their energy and drive while being obedient to their handlers and ignoring other dogs on the field. Quite a few of these teams will be ready to trial this spring - how exciting!
