Would you have a cat-themed wedding? 😻
Wedding season is in full swing, and pets aren’t excluded from the fun-it’s #PetWeddingWeek! 💒 @wafflethetabby’s pawrents threw the ceremony of the century last year dedicated not only to their love for each other but their precious kitty, Waffle ❤️ In true cat-lover fashion, their matrimony included purr-sonalized touches like balls of yarn (Waffle’s fave), “scratchers”, Waffle themed cocktails, and even cut-outs of Waffle’s face 😸 Though Waffle wasn’t there, he was certainly the center of attention!
Everyone deserves a wedding that is unique to your style and personal preferences to make your special union the best day ever 🥰 Tag your cat-lover furriends for some wedding inspiration!

What’s your cat's favorite toy that isn’t really a toy? 😅
Even though you may have a multitude of perfect toys for your cat around the house, there’s just something about a crumpled-up piece of paper that hits the spot 😸 There are different reasons a cat may turn to random items to play with, but the most probable one is that they just enjoy that particular sound or texture.
Some kitties may play with objects that are safety hazards ⚠️ They can easily choke on small pieces, like rubber bands or coins. The best option would be to try and find safer cat toy alternatives that are similar to those particular items and store any potential risks in secured spaces 👍
One of the best parts of owning a cat is discovering their unique and quirky habits and personalities! ❤️ Not all cats like to collect objects, and much of the time your cat is simply acting out of curiosity and playfulness. But, if it seems excessive and you’re concerned, you can always speak with your veterinarian to determine the best way to address the behavior.
Let the cardboard box games commence! 📦

Since 2018, Basepaws has been connecting people with their pets, improving pet health through genetic testing, and building one of the world's largest feline genomic databases, using Illumina, Inc.'s sequencing technology.
In addition to advantages in speed, cost, and reliability, Illumina's technology has allowed us to grow our database and research new health markers that will ultimately help pet parents everywhere. Illumina sat down with our founder and CEO, Anna Skaya, and COO and Head of Science, Damian Kao, Ph.D, to discuss pioneering feline genetics with next-generation sequencing:
