Two of my pekin rescue ducks took their morning bath, then decided to dry in the sun this morning. These are front of the house ducks, they are handicapped, i can keep an eye on them and others throughout the day. All the healthy ducks and chickens are out back enjoying their day.

My sweet opossum woke up this morning to greet me, eat some grapes and drank some fresh water. She was really sick when she was a baby, fit in the palm my hand, i moved her to my outside enclosure preparing her for a soft release, i would leave the door open at night, but in the am she was tucked away in her bedding. She comes and goes as she pleases, im room service. She climbs the stairs and potties upstairs in her litter box and on her peepad.

Jack had his sutures removed today. Cindy his vet tech was amazed that he didn't move during the procedure. He was such a good boy. 🥰

Here is an update on our special boy Jack! His bandages were removed and he is looking good! He will be going this Thursday to have the stitches removed...stay tuned for more updates!

He adjusted quickly to walking with 3 legs.

Do you all remember a year ago our volunteer found five cats abandoned in a crate at Dolphin Park in Carson?
Well after a year one out of the five, Patches, received an application, and not any application but a good match. She started her adoption trial on Christmas Day!!
Her new mom came to us because we were recommended to her by a previous adopter. With so many cats out there looking for their forever home it can be overwhelming for someone who is looking to adopt. It is great to get recommendations.
If you have adopted from us in the past please please recommend us. We are happy when any cat gets adopted but with adult cats it's always harder.
We are so happy for Patches and now have our fingers crossed the 2025 brings a home for the other four.
Peaches, Moe, Marty and Callie are all waiting for their forever home.

This morning Jack's foster mom dropped him off to get his surgery done. Jack is getting his front left arm amputated. Please keep him in your thoughts and send positive vibes. Please don't forget we are actively asking for donations to go towards his surgery. Donations are tax deductible.

Update on our foster boy Jack (injured pup hit by car on Halloween night)

On 12/2/24 Jack had a 4 week visit with his emergency surgical doctor and it was confirmed that he had suffered Brachial Plexus Avulsion to his front left leg (severe nerve damage due to impact from car). He was wearing a splint, receiving range of motion exercises and had a visit with a vet specialist to see if acupuncture would help him. Unfortunately, it was confirmed that he will never regain the use of his leg, and an amputation of that leg is scheduled for 12/26/24 (day after Christmas). Jack is in good spirits and has learned to maneuver his way with the use of three legs. That is half the battle after a surgery like this.

We are in urgent need of funds to help cover the cost of his surgery. Any contribution will be greatly appreciated. This is a tax-deductible contribution so please supply your email address along with your donation and a receipt will be mailed to you for your taxes.

Meet Tito Chiquito!

Tito Chiquito is a 3-month-old male Chihuahua. His estimated date of birth is: 8/2024. He currently weighs in at a solid 5 lbs.

Tito was rescued from the streets of Mexico by a local rescue there. He was brought to us to help him find his forever family and home, never to run the streets again!

Tito is a playful puppy with puppy energy. He is a sweet little boy that loves to be cuddled. He’s doing well with potty training. His foster says he gets along great with the other dogs in his foster home. Tito is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccinations.
