🗓 New Year’s Eve (12/31): Open 9am to 7pm
🗓 New Year’s Day (1/1): Closed

Our regular hours will resume on Thursday, Jan. 2 at 9am.

⛄It's the first day of winter! ⛄Here are some tips to keep your pet safe in the colder weather:

❄Limit Time Outside: Keep walks short in very cold weather to avoid frostbite and hypothermia.

❄Protect Paws: Use pet-safe paw balms to prevent cracking and dryness. Rinse paws after walks to remove salt, ice, and chemicals from sidewalks and roads. You can purchase pet safe salt for use on your driveway or sidewalks at home.

❄Stay Warm: Invest in pet sweaters or jackets for short-haired or small pets. Use booties for added warmth and paw protection from ice and salt.

❄Provide Warm Spaces: Ensure your pet has a cozy place to sleep, away from drafts and cold floors.

❄Beware of Heaters: Keep portable heaters out of reach to avoid burns or accidental tipping.

❄Keep Hydrated: Indoor heating can dry out the air, so ensure your pet has access to plenty of water.

❄Winter Grooming: Avoid shaving your pet’s coat too short, as it provides insulation. Brush regularly to prevent matting, which can reduce a coat's warmth.

We are back again with 🐾 Meet the Team Thursday! 🐾 This week we are excited to introduce you to Baileigh!

Baileigh is a dedicated licensed veterinary technician here at Omnivet. She began her journey in veterinary medicine in 2019 as an assistant, immersing herself in the hands-on experience that would lay the foundation for her career. In 2021, Baileigh graduated with her veterinary technician license, further enhancing her skills and knowledge in the field. With a commitment to providing the highest level of care to her patients with a warm and compassionate approach, Baileigh is always striving to make a positive impact in the lives of animals and their families.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Baileigh is passionate about the outdoors and anything creative. She finds joy in hiking, kayaking, fishing, and spending time at the beach. She shares her love for nature with her partner Nick and their two dogs, August and Moose.

🐾Meet the Team Thursday! 🐾

We are back with our Meet the Team series, and today we are so excited to introduce you to another one of our talented licensed veterinary technicians, Arielle!

Arielle is a new graduate from the Baker College of Cadillac's Veterinary Technician program. She achieved licensure in July of this year and is eager to gain as much experience as possible working with the other extremely talented Assistants, Technicians, and Doctors here at Omnivet. She comes to us with a background in equine and farm animal husbandry and medicine, and a passion for diagnostics! She is committed to fostering an environment of support and mentorship within the world of Veterinary Medicine and loves to share her passion for all things Vet Med by working part time as a tutor for the Baker College Veterinary Technician program. She loves working with clients to provide compassionate and comforting care for their pets during sickness and health.

When she’s not here caring for your animals, she spends her time working as a freelance floral designer for weddings, fly fishing with her uncle, and spending as much time as possible exploring the woods with her two dogs, Phoebe and Ziggy; her two cats, Margie and Pip; and her partner, Danny.

We are truly lucky to have Arielle as part of our Omnivet team!
