🐾☀️ Summer Pet Safety Tips ☀️🐾
It's the first day of summer and the temps are rising! Our furry friends feel the heat even more than we do. Keep your pets safe and cool this summer with these important reminders:
1️⃣ Never leave your pet in the car, even for a minute. Cars heat up fast, and it can be deadly.
2️⃣ Walk smart: Stick to early morning or late evening walks. Pavement gets much hotter than the air temperature— if it feels hot to the touch for you, it’s too hot for their paws.
3️⃣ Watch the weather: Heat and humidity are extra dangerous for dogs that are predisposed to breathing difficulties like pugs, bulldogs, and boxers.
4️⃣ Fur babies overheat fast: Pets with thick coats can struggle more. Limit outdoor time and potty breaks.
5️⃣ Provide a cool space for your pet and always allow access to fresh water both indoors and outdoors.
🚨 Signs of heatstroke: Heavy panting, restlessness, bloody stool. If you notice any of these, call your vet immediately and seek emergency care.
Let’s make summer safe and fun for our furry friends! 🐶💦
